Not all of us have multiple X's in our gamertags or the time to dominate online by spending every waking hour vs. foul mouthed pre-pubescent jerks on live.
I love the bots, I never played the first gears online but LOVED the single player. Most multiplayer games either peter out after 6 months of release or get SO competitive that only the hardest of the hardcore can play. With the bots it really doesn't matter when you buy the game or when you are able to play, the bots don't s...
I live in San Diego, I go to Frys every chance I get. Release week most new games are 5-10$ cheaper than anywhere else. I am also an active member of Cheap Ass Gamer and I hardly ever see any "deals" coming from Walmart.
The employees at Frys never bug you, their selection is enormous and they often run amazing prices and promotions (I got MGS4 and GTA4 on release day with free game guides for no extra $). I only go to Gamestop or Best Buy if I have to. Circuit city us...
As the previous posters have mentioned, the game is upscaled by the 360's HANA hardware upscaler. Whey they don't have an upscaler in the PS3 is beyond me. I have a cheap 1080p set and I rely on the upscaler in my systems, so I do notice a difference between my PS3 and 360.
The weird part is that the PS3 has one awesome upscaler for DVDs, it must be software based. Either way it makes the 360's DVD upscaler look like crap in comparison. Since my inexpensive LCD HDTV isn't up to ...
It is Muslim, with an M, not a N. Muslin is a type of finely-woven cotton fabric, introduced to Europe from the Middle East in the 17th century. Muslim's are those who worship Allah.
I don't understand what is offensive about those scriptures being quoted in a song?
Ask yourself this question, "Would Sony issue a recall if scriptures from the Bible had been quoted in a licensed song in LBP?"
What are they offended about? I am a devout Christian and if a popular game like LBP had the whole Bible as scrolling text it wouldn't bother me a bit! In fact I am sure most Christians would welcome any spreading of the message of the Bible, especially in a game as harmless and family friendly as LBP.
The game is not putting their faith down, if anything it is putting the words of their holy book out there for all to hear, how is that offensive or bad?
I couldn't stand that manufactured terror angle on the RE4 controls.
With the new proper controls this game just went from a pass to a buy.
(Parting Cheap Shot to follow): Maybe this signals a new era in Japanese game development, like maybe SquareEnix and Koei will stop making the same game 20 times a year :)
Obviously this game is not the second coming or anything, but lighten up! The original Saints Row did not take itself seriously and was a surprisingly lot of fun.
The original Saints had: car customization, beautiful paint jobs, create a character, great guns and aiming, unlimited garages, smooth frame-rate, stupidly hilarious story and dialogue, graphics that were not all blurry and smeary (i.e. GTA4), and great car handling (not like every vehicle had long-travel spent shocks (...
I was referring to the enterprise of blog posts/views for cash, the business enterprise of fiscally motivated quotas on blogs. I am not speaking about the "journalistic integrity" but rather the irony of Crecente making such a harsh rebuke to CAG while he himself and his blog promote the practice of bloggers posting poorly researched stories just to make ends meat.
The contest may have begun as a joke just to see what would happen but when the story got picked up by not one but dozens of mainstream gaming blogs the whole situation exposed the shallow and rather shady gaming blogs business.
I feel that it shows a lack of integrity and introspection on Kotaku's part for not accepting the situation for what it was: a hard and ugly look in the mirror about how they run their site and post their "news".
The man has a right to his opinion. He has never proven himself (Either in OXM or the podcast) to be anything less than a classy gentlemen. Who wouldn't be pissed if someone trashed you by taking your own thoughts out of context. I cannot believe Dan gets hammered like this when genuine "excentrics" like Cliffy B, Peter Molyneux, and the king of them Dennis Dyak are roaming the halls!
He said "We currently do not have anything planned in conjunction with Microsoft for September 25", why would he specify the date? Doesn't that leave the option open but for other dates? Wouldn't he just say "we don't have anything planned" if there wasn't anything going on?
It is probably wishful thinking but his response sounds suspiciously like lawyer/PR speak to me.
Dyak invited the criticism when he baited people on message boards and attacked videogame journalists for the past 3 years. If he or his game can't take it then he shouldn't have dished it out.
There is a huge difference between someone eccentric and somewhat annoying like Cliffy B doing his shtick but then delivering an amazing game like Gears and dyak being so confrontational and then delivering a mediocre product like Too Human.
If game companies can't package a "Big Daddy" from Bioshock or Disc 2 from Halo special editions how do you think they will safely transport a full-size firearm?
I agree that we all need to continue to focus on healthy stewardship of the planet and the development of cleaner, more efficient energy but "gaming might cause global warming"?
I find it enormously arrogant that we as humans believe that we can seriously impact an entire planet (outside of a mutually assured destruction scenario) that has existed long before any of us were here. Nature DOES contribute the lion's share of "pollution" to the environment (Volcan...
Or if you prefer the last movie I saw was Gone with the Wind, I am typing this on a typewriter while I listen to my classic 8-track or record player. In fact I only noticed this bit of news while surfing the "interweb" on my Prodigy internet service through a 28.8k modem!
Seriously though, so much for the "youth vote". I mean the dude hasn't played a game since Pong?! I guess endless pandering, licking your finger and holding it up to see which way the politi...
Militant07: "i allways loved prince of persia but not buying this becasue that fuucking graphic sucks its like cartoony kids game and not using power of next generation console"
YOUR AVATAR IS AN ANMIE CHARACTER!! You have every right to your opinion but what is up with the huge disconnect between what you said and your avatar?
Even if they went to one console fanboys would start pledging their allegiance to developers or publishers. It's not about the product it's about the fans.
