Could Geico really save you 15% or more on car insurance?
Will Gran Turismo 5 outsell Kinect in Japan?
Actually, I can settle this...
Many 360 controllers suffer from a design variation where the d pad doesn't sit correctly in the well. This allows it to have less responsive control, but only in the pads that exhibit this flaw.
Thus, some pads will have no problem, and others will take additional pressure in one direction.
Went out for mine at lunch. Much better. It's got a grippy texture, the d-pad is much improved... but it's still got the mildly mushy feeling and it's not as clicky as some people might desire. It's still the best version so far. But seeing it without colorful buttons is surreal, like watching Pleasantville.
And while I'm on a roll, headwing45.... why would a Blu-ray disk be necessary to 3D? IN A GAME, no less. All the strain is on the rendering side, not on the disk space. Now, a 3D MOIVE takes could take twice the space, depending on compression methods and whether or not only half the frames are present for each eye of the movie... but probably not.
There has been quite a bit of scuttlebutt about the 360 not having the right version of HDMI for 3D (which is evidently wro...
cgoodno... that is 100% wrong. You could not be more inaccurate. You are making shit up off the top of your head. This is criminally incorrect, and you should... well maybe not burn in hell for pretending you know anything about 3D on 360... but something bad should happen to you for your egregious error.
I just went over to verify it. I don't have a 3D TV, but if you put the game in 3D mode, it puts the images side by side. If I had a 3D TV, it would also be sending...
Did Sony pay you for that comment, jieack? If not, you should realize just how ridiculous that sounds.... like a car commercial.
What's with the disagrees for SmokexFFx? This is pretty much a fact. We gamers buy games year round. The casuals and the kiddies who don't make any money... they do almost all their buying at Christmas...
Kinect will PROBABLY wipe the floor with GT5. In fact, I don't see a lot of hype driving for PS3 adoption through the end of the year. Face it, if you want a PS3 for this holiday's lineup, you probably already have one.
@frosty: Look wh...
Maybe overselling Kinect a little... but certainly going to have a bigger impact than GT5. You may not like it, but that's probably how it's going to shake out.
The voice chat over live is a world of difference better. Some people say it rivals Skype, but I disagree. Still MUCH better.
This has less to do with the game and more to do with nerd-rage and counter-hype... the latter being something N4G users should be familiar with.
Child of Eden. That's how. It's not all that difficult to imagine... unless you just don't want to.

No offense... but N4G isn't changing. It's still filled with snarky infants.
Funny how people think the Z axis isn't "used" in the current games. Kinect Adventures uses it very well for Rallyball (Ricochet). Yourself Fitness uses it to determine if you are punching across your body or if your legs are properly bent. There are certainly games that COULD operate without it, but that doesn't mean that they don't use it or that they work as well without it.
Seriously, just saying something doesn't make it true. "Jessica ...
It's pretty obvious Microsoft will release a move-like or navigation-like controller to complement the kinect.
And when that happens, the snark on N4G will be utterly unbearable.
Hopefully the next Kinect feature is a traction bed. I threw my back out this past weekend punching blocks in Yourself Fitness Evolved. A visit to the chiropractor later and I'm recovering.
Foreigner bashing Americans, self-loathing liberal American, or flaming Japanophile.
Place your bets...
If I understand correctly, the Japanese have very little space for stuff like Kinect in their homes. I've been very happy with my Kinect, aside from sore muscles and a Dr. Evil-grade backsprain. But the biggest weakness of the Kinect is its demand for space.
I'll offer what's admittedly a pro-kinect perspective.
You need space. I have lots of space... almost 12 feet (3.5 meters) from my TV, minus the coffee table.
The tracking is responsive. Don't listen to what everyone else is saying. Everything has a little lag, but it by no means breaks the experience... unless you are one of those people who fret over milliseconds of lag.
Long story short, the tech works, but the games may be ...
...no. I'm saying if you want to make a snap judgement that obviously plays to your biases, I can do that too!
Yes. I find Kinect to be very impressive and consistent. BUT I found myself moving away from the games pretty quickly. It now functions mostly as a way to tell Last.fm to skip the song.
Honestly, I'm waiting for Child of Eden. Miz's games are gorgeous and I can't wait to play them with a Kinect.
And Steel Battalion. I can't wait to see what they do with that.
