Not surprised really.
It's like when gaming sites turn around and say it's strange when sales in Q1 and parts of Q2 plummet. Err, its summer. No games worth noting come out, so we dont buy.
Deus Ex came at a perfect time. If it had come out next month (september), it would have almost failed. October, definitely failed. Far too many games crammed into September, October and November.
Sales of Deus Ex have shot nice and high, 600,...
As much as the destroying houses thing in BC2 is annoying what with the trophy, you can take down a house with 3 C4s in strategically placed decisions (clue, jump and place them in the top corners on the bottom floors) with the explosives amplification ''perk''. Boom, groan, down it comes.
Destructive environment is key to Battlefield now, but not having everything destructable is smart, as most people just blow away the most important buildings especially in...
I hope they make it longer to level up than Bad Company 2, as that would make it the Oblivion of online FPS's.
Ive played Bad Company 2 for something like 250 total hours, and Im only rank 42/50, and im not crap. Im in the top 10,000 players, not that you care.
BUt that just goes to show, when you see someone in Bad Company 2 with lvl 50, you KNOW they've got more experience than you and are ultimately better.
So I want SLOW progress...
I'm buying Modern Warfare 3?
Err, I literally cant think of anything that would make me buy it.
Fell for that ***t with blops, dear god, I felt raped.
For Sony to release a new console in the next 2 years is questionable.
Practically mandatory for Microsoft though. I mean, they cant be second place forever and should atleast TRY and be better than the PS3.
The 360 is quite old now, but it doesnt need to disappear.
As is the case with the PS3. Dont forget, it's still based on 2004(?) tech, which by PC standards is just decades ago.
Sony have said they wont be releasin...
This seems like the birthchild of L4D (4 characters and the special zombies might as well be the same) with the premise of dead rising and the freedom of fallout 3.
Huge island you run around on completing side quests and slayin zombies.
It comes out friday here in the UK, so I'll have to wait for reviews today and monday before I pre-order it. That or get a demo/illegal copy or something to make up my mind.
Battlefield IS Multiplayer.
CoD was singleplayer and has turned into Multiplayer and has become popular as a result.
Battlefield has always been about the Multiplayer and has been superior forever.
Now they're trying singleplayer. I'd like a small singleplayer thrown on, it's nice, and I know DICE will do a great job like they did with the Bad Company series, but even they were all about the multiplayer.
So stop ...
Turning off Dx11, running in Dx10 and then back to Dx11...I cant really notice any difference.
I seem to be the minority who actually really like the graphics. It still FEELS like Deus Ex the original.
I feel a nerf coming already, seems like something people will instantly start to exploit.
Smaller, faster target to hit and it can win games?
Hmm.
Probably the first thing so far regarding BF3 I have felt negative about.
I want MW3 to fail, in the expectations and lower sales front, but I dont want any CoD players to jump on the BF3 bandwagon.
What makes the Battlefield series so great is the people that play it. Hardly any kids, ever.
I fear BF3 may change that.
Its another reason I will get BF3 for the PC; more kiddies on their kiddie consoles.
Sucks to be a PS3 or 360 player.
Played the beta *cough*.
Feels alot like an FPS version of Metal Gear Solid 4 with Deux Ex sprinkled ontop.
Pretty damn good then. But somehow feels a bit...err....bland?
I dunno, maybe I fell for the hype, I just wasnt blown away all that much.
2nd best and still destroyed by the better gaming option: a PC. Even gaming laptops destroy the consoles.
Anyway, when this guy says anything, the gaming world, including you, the consumer, had better bloody listen.
He's like..I dunno..the Yoda of the gaming world. This guy bloody well invented the FPS genre, so dont dare question him.
What he says is true.
*edit* best kind of fps games.
I love the BLATANT CoD fanboy-ism in this ridiculous article.
''Dont get BF3 because it's just an FPS and they are boring now, but get MW3 because it's the kind of FPS games.''
Moron.
God, I want to burn all CoD fans.
''Designed for the PC''
Seriously?
Oh god, quite your whining you poor console owners.
Get some money and get a real gaming platform.
Halflife 2? Get the hell out of here. HL2 is a benchmark of FPS games as to how they should be polished and developed.
GTA 4? Hmm, yes and no for me. It was certainly great, but I can why people think it's overrated.
Most overrated for me is definitely ANYTHING to do with Halo. And then CoD.
You can get all of them for like 15 pounds now.
I got Splinter Cell Conviction for the PC, thats the latest Splinter Cell that came out like last year, for a fiver.
HD remake? Cashing in and pointless.
It's finished when you feel it is finished.
I for one ''finished'' Red Dead Redemption after finishing the story and maxing the hunting quests etc.
Literally nothing left in that empty world so I traded it in.
Bad Company 2, Oblivion and Demon's Souls are the ones I would rush into playing again.
Oblivion alone would pass the time before Skyrim arrives, and you can get it on any platform for around a tenner, and it has LITERALLY 500+ hours worth of gameplay and more. Easily the best FPS RPG around, and Skyrim is taking it and making it better in every way. Oblivion is a game RPG developers need to take note of. It's openworld gaming finally done right, with so many things...
Knew it would be better than CoD.
DICE are the experts I would say at MP, and throw in a SP that is better than Bad Company 2 and you have a serious package.
Bad Company 2 was amazing as it is, and upping the scale for true Battlefield, oh god, I cannot wait.
