Pretty, but dull.
FTFY.
Pretty sure more people play CoD and especially BF4 for a reason.
BF4 wipes the floor with Killzone in the MP department.
I downloaded the Killzone MP "weekend trial" or whatever, and shut it off after 2 rounds.
Frame rate was incredibly inconsistent. Dropped easily below 40 FPS at times. This "60 FPS" bollocks WAS in fact bollocks then.
And to me it's not THAT pretty.
Gameplay felt mediocre. Average. Nothing special.
GTA 5 annoyed me, made me curse at the frame rates, confused me with the bouncing between characters, yet gave me great fun. Just...fun. Something games have forgotten to give these days.
But sorry, TLOU had me shed a tear in the first 10 minutes, thanks to the Oscar-worthy Troy Baker's performance. It got its' hooks in me from the start and didn't let go until the end of the 4th play through.
GTA 5 is a fantastic game.
TLOU is...
Naughty Dog.
Gave my PS3 to my 12-year-old nephew for Xmas with Batman Arkham City, Rayman Origins and Kingdoms Of Amalur to start his collection of games.
He's wanted a PS3 for a few years now. I didn't need it due to getting a PS4.
He cried as he hugged me.
Just buy the next CoD. You're 99% close to Titanfall. All that's missing is mechs.
Funny how the new consoles are more like PCs than ever these days.
By the way, EVERY ONE OF THESE POINTS APPLIES TO PC AS WELL.
We have nostalgia. C&C. Lion King on floppy disc. Deus Ex.
PC gaming is super easy these days too to anyone with a brain cell. Not much goes "wrong" anymore.
PC has a massive exclusive alone in the RTS genre. RTS games in consoles dont work, as sales prove. And we have the greatest...
Kind of a sad day if people havent learnt that promotional "in-game screenshots" are usually done on PC (as all games are made on PC), and almost never reflect the graphics of the final product.
The resolution of the final game will be lower, less textures etc.
Hell look at GTA 5. It looked amazing in shots. And was shocking in-game in comparison.
The PS4 release in the US sold as many in 24 hours as the Xbox 720p did WORLDWIDE in 24 hours.
When Europe etc get it tomorrow...the flood gates will open on the "PS4 outselling Xbox 720" articles.
Screw the chuggy, bugged, broken and boring MP of GTA 5.
The Last Of Us better win GOTY.
This is what makes me roar with laughter.
I'm a PC player, and I'm getting a PS4 on launch, but anyone who owns a PC or hell, has a fucking brain cell, knows you never pull out hardware WHEN THE FUCKING THING IS STILL TURNED ON.
I really hope console owners aren't like this.
An Xbox None lover using the word "gimmick" is probably the most ironic thing ever.
How's your Kinect?
How's your "cloud" bullshit that won't work, ever, otherwise it would have already been done for PCs, and no games on launch are using it.
All "cloud" is good for right now is some kind of blind reassurance to Xbox fans that their games will run better in time, so they can up the resolution etc from...
Dead Rising is one of the most childish game series in the world.
RYSE is just a QTE game with pretty poor mechanics overall.
Killer Instinct is just Tekken.
Forza is a wannabe Gran Turismo.
And almost all the other games are coming out on PS4 as well.
The Xbox None's lineup is hilariously poor.
Sony doesn't need to do anything really.
"Our console is faster, will therefore have a longer lifetime and push graphics further, and we're £80/$100 cheaper."
The price alone is enough to sway the majority in a recession.
A big chunk of these sales are going to be made by parents for their kids for example.
And what parent chooses a more expensive piece of hardware that has inevitably lower reviews on A...
I think this has become the excuse for the Xbox One user.
The reality is, their console is running at 720p (sure it's "upscaled", but when the competition is running TRUE 1080p, it makes a difference. The PS4 is simply sharper).
Also, if Digital Foundry's recent video is true, the Xbox One can't maintain 30 fps.
Dead Rising 3 is running at 720p, 30 FPS, with consistent dips into 20 FPS, going as low as 18 FPS.
...
Hardly anyone on PC is playing 64-man due to the vehicle unbalancing.
It's too chaotic.
You can't mention PCs anymore. The console lot get so defensive over their new 1080p machines.
1080p is the new 720p, 1440p is the new 1080p, 60 fps is the new 30 fps, and 120 fps is the new 60 fps what with 120hz and 144hz monitors that make SUCH a difference over 60hz/fps monitors.
But let's let these lot have their cream-in-pants moment.
Bit harsh to show this publically. Some people are getting the Xbox One after all.
They'll never know what 1080p looks like.
Console owners. You can feel, you can just feel the irrational hatred.
"Yeah. Tomb Raider for £5.99."
"Ooooooh snap. Bioshock Infinite for £6.24"
"Zing! Dishonored for £3.74"
"Snap! Far Cry 3 for £4.99"
Figures console owners will never see.
"LOLOLOLPCGAMINGISMOREEX PENSIVETROLOLOL"
Sod off.
