Its failing to maintain 30 FPS because the consoles arent powerful enough.
Even flagship PC cards worth upward of £600 are struggling, so of course a £200 console will struggle.
Its been over a year, and they have over a decade of coding knowledge at their fingertips due to the architecture basically making the new consoles a PC.
If they havent tap'd it now, its because of two reasons;
One, they already have and wont say, in order to keep you delusional because it maintains sales.
Two, they're holding back so that every release gives a bit more power, again to keep up delusions that the consoles are more powe...
Lol no-money console gamers.
Downvoted by butthurt console owners playing at 30 FPS on medium settings.
The game has a massive breaking bug at the moment - quests are NOT giving XP regardless of which patch you're on.
CDPR are fixing it but it's been almost a week already.
I've had that complaint since the PS4's release over a year ago.
Another reason why PC wins - 3 patches in 6 days.
Enjoy your waiting consoles.
On a sad note, this is a terrible patch - pop-in has shot through the roof, and it was already bad enough to begin with.
Players are reporting a drop of around 10 FPS.
Some are reporting an increase in hardware temperature.
Oh dear.
I've got a version running and it makes SUCH a difference.
Only thing that sucks is software like Afterburner has to be turned off, so all your card's overclocking goes back to default, because of the software overlay interfering with SweetFX.
CDPR have turned around and basically said "we downgraded because of consoles."
The downgrade is ENTIRELY because of consoles, end of story. They lack the power.
And this is all being done with some basic ini file tweaking of figures.
Cant get any SweetFX to work, they just darken the game even though the overlay says the settings are applied successfully.
https://sfx.thelazy.net/gam... is the one I'm trying to use.
Afterburner closed, Steam closed.
At work now so I think I'm going to reset my Nvidia CP that has Witcher 3 forced AA and Vysnc adaptive, AA off in-game.
Scroll lock...
Of course it should.
Every downgrade is showing the lack of console power.
CDPR have flat out said now that the consoles are the reason for the downgrade, plain and simple.
...just use DS4 software like everyone else?
PC has a patch, but for some ridiculous reason we have to wait for console patch to be certified.
More console bollocks again.
PC patches don't need certification!!!
Just release it now. But no, can't have the consoles looking even worse now can we.
And on PC, some Polish brothers have been fiddling with the game's ini file(s), and this is what they're producing:

Look so much better, it's untrue.
Turn on hardware input under graphics to get rid of the STUPID input lag, and turn off Vsync which for some reason locks the game at 30 FPS.
Oh right, because consoles.
So...you like it because it's more of a PC?
1. PC as always.
2. Can use KB&M + any console controller.
3. Okay, PS4 wins that. Cool feature I will probably never use, honestly.
4. PC has the most exclusives.
5. PC has done this since..forever.
I'm sorry but the list of reasons for consoles over PC is really, really thin.
I bought my PS4 for exclusives. Of which there are almost none in over a year...
They've sold their soul to Sony and MS with the consoles.
Give them a few years and they'll be less caring as their company grows. Always happens to small companies that become big.
The amount of hate from PC players against CDPR these days is testemony to that - CDPR are a PC developer, and they won't admit they had to downgrade because of consoles when it's so bloody obvious.
2013's reveal of TW3, before they even knew ...
They all have the same problem in common - if you're not online, the AI just isn't a challenge.
Project Cars is yet another classic example. The AI just isn't quick enough, and if you up the difficulty, all it does is make them lap faster in qualifying. In-race they're as dumb as any other difficulty.
Online is always a mess in racing games because everyone just crashes into everyone to ge around a corner faster, or side-bash you off course ...
Err, consoles keep the medium from progressing.
CDPR seem to be the only developer that will say this out loud.
Oh that's right, because they're not in bed with Sony or MS, nor owned by scum like EA or Ubisoft, being paid to spout positive crap about the new consoles.
