LOL... ultra settings for both amd and nvidia will look the same. what ails you?

LOL... you dont need a 2000 dollar pc. you guys are delusional. A pc that costs less than half that will be able to max the vast majority of games out there now, and then you factor in that the games are cheaper (not always directly from steam or origin, you want to check cd key sites or game deal sites such as greenmangaming)

I have not spent over 35 dollars on a game at or around launch this year. Some were cheaper (try 5 bucks) but for the most part they were all around 30...

A 600 dollar pc outdoes it now, if only slightly.

Gameplay>Graphics, I wholly agree. The problem is is that you assume pc games are only about graphics.... with crysis perhaps, but there is a wealth of pc only games that have insanely deep and rewarding gameplay that cant be found elsewhere.

Ignorance is bliss I suppose.

That is an overstatement if I have ever seen one.

Sure Naughty Dog's skill is well known but they make do with the tools they have, and sure their games are some of the prettiest around (on any platform) there will always be pc games that will look better, sometimes staggeringly so.

baby steps my friend, baby steps. This is a really good thing.

coil whine is not typical, however I have read that some non reference model 7950s did have it, that however has no bearing on amd and is the direct responsibility of your card's manufacturer.

also gta iv and assasins creed 3 are both horrible ports and run like crap on pretty much all pcs

I have a 7950 and no problems whatsoever. only game to kick its teeth in so far has been metro last light.

lulwut? Where? let me give you an example of the same line of boards for both chipsets. Asus makes sabertooth models for both intel and amd.

the z77 sabertooth is 230 dollars, and the 990fx sabertooth is 190 dollars.

I love how everyone in here is off topic...

This article is about the upcoming announcement and specs of AMD's next flagship card, which if it is not a disappointment will be my next gpu, otherwise I am going with a gtx 780.

4531d ago 6 agree2 disagreeView comment

while that is true, you have to remember that nvidia kind of forced their hand in that (at least that was a contributing factor)

Nvidia refused to drop the price of the og xbox gpu even after 4 years, so Microsoft decided to drop nvidia. Remeber the 360 had a ATI (now AMD) gpu with the 360, and nvidia went with sony.

all caps equals: LOL DIDNT READ!

This is a good thing, as it will force developers to use more than a few cores (in fact most devs have a main thread that only runs on one core and then they may have a couple of minor threads running on other cores.) This will bring about a performance increase for everyone. There are only a few games that are properly multithreaded aware

Increasing the gpu speed does not have all that much effect on the graphics. fyi.

4546d ago 0 agree3 disagreeView comment

They wont be gimped in graphic fidelity.... gpu handles the graphics not the cpu. it is 2 cpu cores that are being used for ps eye, not any of the gpu.

Not like it matters, when have you played a kinect game that required massive amounts of cpu processing? that just dance AI is incredible... lol

SMH.

@Eonjay

The ps4 doesnt use Directx.... tsk tsk. it uses a customized opengl api that allows for "closer to the metal" coding. That means code on the ps4 can be much more efficient if written properly

could be a good thing if it happens though, just depends on if it is spun off into its own company or sold, and to whom.

4558d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Heres how you do it:

1. Connect computer to tv

2. Connect controller to computer

3. Launch steam in big picture mode (You know the controller friendly tv interface)

4. Play game (Almost all games fully support controllers now)

5. ??

6. Profit.

I dunno the unreal 4 demos seem to rival crysis 3 in visuals (when crysis 3 is maxxed out).

4559d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

uh, no. the 680 is a little better than the 7950, its amd equivalent is the 7970.
