I did the same, and honestly I was very apprehensive about going with an amd cpu. All the fanboys made it sound like the FX 8350 was no better than a 2 year old I3 (LULWUT) after doing A LOT of research I found that with the exception of single threaded operations (AMD really does fall flat in that area) The FX 8350 is in the same performance catagory as the I7 3770K. In fact it out performs it in many catagories.
When it came to gpus the choice wasnt soo clear cut, but after a ...
I dunno. I have had an update for my gpu every month since I bought it. I bought my HD 7950 in october of last year. Performance has increased with almost every update too.
5% difference? eh, my HD 7950 outperforms a gtx 670 all day long. I haven't experienced any of the dreaded driver issues that people like to trumpet all over the internet. In my opinion it is Overblown. Maybe I'm just lucky?
Honestly it goes back an forth between them.
I like how the author goes on about the uncanny valley and how that trailer seems to have surpassed it, yet when I watch it I could not help but feel that things were not quite right. This feeling was more so than what I would get from most trailers.
Not knocking the game, as I'm sure it will be awesome, but this trailer is not indicative of what crossing the uncanny valley will be. Instead it seems to be more of a step back.
Oh thats cute.
@RytGear
Something that sits behind your tv stationary and unseen does not give the competition an advantage.
If you like to move your console around it is merely just another thing to bring with you. bit of a nuisance, yes but ultimately irrelevant. Hardly a major turn off.
Im not going to argue that Microsoft done goofed with the xbox one and honestly if you want to hate on the xbox there is more than enough reasons to do so. We could talk ...
lulz, read my comment again.
Out of principle for how microsoft has handled everything xbox one related?
Cause the brick changes the console's value and your ability to use it.... lol
I can see people being upset at microsoft for their arrogant policies, kinect, price, and still requiring batteries for the controller but to use the existence of a power brick as a reason for your dissatisfaction is just absurd.
Knowing AMD's previous track record with pricing? They will kick nvidia in the nuts by undercutting them significantly.
cheaper titans for everyone!
Yes lets compare a 1000 dollar gpu to a 400 dollar console.
Or you could try to comprehend what he was saying. When it comes to compute amd cards really do wipe the floor with nvidia cards. my 300 dollar hd 7950 Is more than twice as fast at compute operations than a gtx titan.
compute is used for a lot of pc centric tasks.
it is used for photo editing, video editing, complex calculations, simulations, etc.
yes they do, but he specified the i5 2500k, which does not "Destroy" the FX8350. in fact it is only marginally better than the FX6300
destroys? in what universe?
Yeah, just get a start menu replacement program (startisback or start8) and windows 8 becomes windows 7 supercharged with a coat of new paint.
It is just soo much faster.
F yeah. Take my money.
yeah, keep telling yourself that.
I have 97 games on my steam account, and have purchased them over the course of 5 years, i have spend maybe a total of 350 dollars on them all. I have put about 2000 dollars in my computer in the same amount of time.
to put this into perspective I used to buy one brand new game a month for my console, and I have bought a new ps3 3 years ago, so in the same amount of time I would have spent ~ 3420 dollars on console gaming. No...
Missed the /s did you?
@fossilfern
there is technically already an 8 series. and they are rebrands, however they are only for OEMs. Tomshardware reported a few days ago that the next series will in fact be the 9 series
(its a rumor at this point).
only two months to wait, and we will know for sure.
I wouldnt base any purchase descision on rumors, after all there have been some that have pegged the hd 8970/9970? as being better than a titan.
Yes, it was to focus on their Mobile chips (Tegra) and last I checked nvidia's Tegra 4 has flopped. Qualcomm is eating up all the sales with their snapdragons with adreno gpus (fun fact, the adreno started as AMD's mobile radeon that they sold to qualcomm thinking the market wouldnt be big enough.)
