the hd 7950 is about the same price as a 660ti and performs on par with a gtx 670. so for nvidia it is, but over all that goes to the hd 7950

My pc has supplanted consoles as my gaming machine, and if the only games I get for ps4 will have naughty dog on the label I will be happy for that purchase.

well, yeah they dont need to be as powerful to create the same image as a pc. Thank less overhead and coding to the "metal" for that! imagine if we could get pc's to that point though?

they are technically *already* obsolete. the flagship cards from nvidia and amd are already many times faster.

one caveat, the ps3 had complex and unorthodox architecture, whereas the ps4 has a much more conventional architecture (which is going to be very similar to the xbox one) so based on that its highly likely that we will see a bigger gap between the two.

they are not quite separate. the cpu or was it the gpu?(cant remember which one) have the ability to pull from the other pool of memory. i think it was the gpu that can pull from the xdr.

there are two key flaws in you webcam comparison.
With cell phones and computers you have full control over the system, and secondly Microsoft recently filed a patent just for the type of spying kinect will do.

I am disappoint. The M.M.O. 7 and all of the R.A.T. mice have been great. They have been making decent peripherals since they bought saitek.
I have the M.M.O. 7 and it's been the best mouse I've had.
they have been lately, the 8350 performs favorably against the 3570k and 3770k in most areas and even out performs them in a few, however the ipc (single thread) is one area where it still falls a bit behind.
not to mention with their gpus, once they fixed the drivers they pushed the hd 7 series up to and a little beyond the gtx 6 series.
I think the cash influx from sony, nintendo and microsoft has definitely helped amd so far. just speculation though.
you act if this was new tech... the 7990 is merely two 7970s. last i check the 690 is merely 2 680s

new consoles are almost always comparable to mid range gaming pcs when they come out- this is nothing new.

crysis has great gameplay... its the story that will bore the piss out of you.
aside from the beastly titan the 79XX radeons from amd rule the roost at the moment when it comes to power. the 7950 is more powerfull than the gtx 670 in most games and likewise the 7970 is more powerful than the gtx 680 in most games. Amd has really stepped it up in the gpu market, especially after the 12.11 catalyst drivers. and with piledriver and soon steamroller it looks like they are starting to turn around their cpu business, although they still dont compare to intel's highend cpu...
intel maybe. but not nvidia. the hd 7s were consistantly better that the gtx 6s after the 12.11 driver update. look up more recent benches.
