The older a given game gets the more difficult it becomes to access it the way it was originally intended.

To some degree re-releases, remakes, and reboots are totally necessary. The trouble is some people seek this out exclusively rather than try new things, some publishers and developers are determined to squeeze every dime they can out of any perceived nostalgia credit they have accumulated.

I think it's good in it's place but sometimes it manages ...

It'll be an option but it will be interesting to see which way fresh generations brought up with both will go.

I imagine they'll start off with motion because it's a bit easier to get a hang of if you've never played with anything else.
Then they'll probably be form a bit of loyalty. I personally haven't found any type of game that doesn't play better if not more realistically.

People always say it sucks for shooters but ...

There you go, it still took eight times longer than an ign what game do you want on your ps4 article. Which sure it's ign but how many of those have we seen already.

It's not so much that I support homosexuals, it's more just that I hate anyone who thinks less of someone for a lifestyle choice. I would be just as enraged if someone was looking down their nose at people for playing games, doing drugs, expressing their opinion in one way or another or even excising their right to free choice and poor decision making.
As long as it's not harming anyone else I support whatever you want to do.

So I pretty much am just a st...

yeah but an ipad is light weight and it still feels heavy after many hours of holding and it's like four pounds.

It's more about the angle you have to hold it at than weight. Just having to hold something elevated for a long period of time becomes difficult.

Here do an exercise with me.

Take your left arm and hold it straight out from the side of your body for ten minutes.

It'll start to get pretty heavy, you can ...

What a horribly stupid process.

"They bought us a Nintendo system to play, because neither Terry nor I nor the directors had been gamers, so we were playing Nintendo. And the directors, I don’t think were that worried about the Nintendo stuff, like the game references and things."

This is how gaming movies are seen and made apparently almost to this day.

No.

If a company spits on me I don't buy their products.
I stopeed using MS products because of windows related BS. I stopped buying Nintendo because of blatant recycling. And I pretty well in general gave up on pc gaming because of hokey DRM practices.
Though I do dabble in indie pc games :)

I think it's funny that their revolutionary idea was to make a home console out of the DS.

It is technically a great idea but the sad state of affairs with only being able to have one tablet controller is just sad.

Plus it's really really big, I imagine after a couple hours I wouldn't want to hold it up anymore. Let alone when I'm half dead trying to game at three in the morning.

You keep listing games that have multiplayer components but aren't strictly mmo's.

You are missing the point.

GTA 4 is not mmo, warhawk wouldn't even be an mmo. Eve online is not rts, though yes it is strategy but that is not what is generally meant by strategy. Maple story seemed more like a beat em up, and APB looks like a good one but it seems more like regular online (though I have not played it, just watched a trailer and read the wiki) but i...

Google is entering it more or less since psvito runs android.

Thats obviously something that both companies would have negotiated on for some time. A games console is a bit different than licensing an os for a phone.

That looks pretty sweet but I was thinking of something more like a super massive burnout paradise city but like a couple hundred times the size. Maybe even a realistic creation of the earth that operated as a driving mmo.

Though I also thing an mmo sandbox game (like GTA more or less) could manage to include something like that just by being what it is.

That was such a well written article.

I'm already disappointed that it has been approved less than an article released after it that as poorly written and rambled about being addicted to generic shooter leveling systems and challengers.

Just like gaming needs equality so does this website. Don't be so conservative.

So is point- and credit-gathering a good reason to replay a game?

No.

In the undying words of admiral ackbar.
it's a trap!

What your getting is mediocre gameplay, mediocre story, and one highly addictive feature.
If that highly addictive feature was paired up with great story and gameplay then you would have a wonder drug with no negatives essentially. What you have now is the gaming equivalent of crack.

Now someone just needs to find balls big enough to make mmo racing, strategy, sandbox, and adventure platforming games.

If its still not done after we (friends and I) finish working through the que of game idea's we already have I'll start in on these.

The only real way to solve this problem is to wait for it to get massively out of control. Then there would have to be a massive class action lawsuit filed against all guilty publishers and developers for gauging.

There's a class action lawsuit going up against credit card companies for gauging in vancouver canada right now.
Something similar seems to be on the up and up for cell phones and internet costs too.

I don't mind the whole freemium thi...

There are multiple consoles. If everything was multiplat there would be no point in having more than one console.

I think if they go one year behind it would be best just to go for two and let the whole thing blow over.

I think in the most technical sense.
Nintendo could do well strictly as a game developer. Sony could do well strictly as a hardware manufacturer and publishing partner, and microsoft is nearly the best at networking and interfaces.

That is probably where everything will end up eventually. Moving back to where they came. Consoles are just a side track for gaming.

One day we will all look back and remember tho-se quaint few decades we had designated gam...

This is demonstratively true with titles such as 3d dot game heroes and the hd remake packs which release at 40 dollars and sell astoundingly well.

Much to the surprise of the publishers in the interviews.

Though they chalk it up to the game being super great.
