The only one ive played so far is ME2 (getting 3 soon), and while its a great game it is slightly overrated IMO. The main threat really takes a back seat to solving your teammates problems, which kills the sense of urgency of the situation. The mining is pointless and time consuming, and the side missions you discover by doing it are mostly terrible. Theres nothing wrong with releasing a game per year if they can polish it and make noticeble improvements. Take the prince of persia franchise last gen, they were annual releases but vastly different. The problem is releasing the same game every year. Gaming is a business. COD sells like water every year, so they release the same game cuz they know it will sell anyway. If you dont want ODSTs and anniversaries in the future, just dont buy them. Thats the downside of very popular franchises.
For anyone that owns a PS3/360 its best to wait. wait to see if third parties are going to support the console beyond ports, and check what nintendo has in store for their classic franchises.
If something can save this game is Leon's campaign. That said, it will probably be extremely short, and paying full price for 1/3 of a game is bullshit. I feel you're going to regret that pre-order.
Some of the points were nitpicks, but others are fair. I always rejected the run and gun, so I have to agree on that one. Melee attacks in the past games were a reward for precise shots, so being able to use them at will is just a stupid design decision. I personally didnt care much about GTA before 4 because the poor auto aim shooting mechanics were total game breakers for me. I hope I can give it a shot someday. Everyone can have their opinins, but honestly, u dont buy a game like bayonetta expecting a great storyline and gameplay variety. U can spot all of those problems just by watching the trailers. Bayonetta is by design an hack and slash game that is the best at...well...hacking and slashing. Besides, how is an extra game less incentive to buy an console? That just doesnt make sense.

i can agree with you on the original ssb and ssbb, but melee is a different story.if a kid beats a grown up in melee by button mashing, its cuz the grown up(like most ppl that play melee) hasnt scratched the surface of the system. If you watch a pro play melee, and then try to do the same, you just wont be able to do it. Ive played it for years, and im still amazed by the level those guys reached.
it really depends on how the game is structured. super smash bros melee is the perfect exemple of a game thats easy to get into, and play with your friends, but has tons advanced techniques for the most dedicated to get really good at (watch pros play melee, its just crazy). brawl on the other hand, kinda dropped the ball on the competitive aspect. well really have to wait and see.

this has been said time and time again, but I will say it one more time: graphics dont make a game! its ok to prefer the dark style of TP, but dont judge a gama based on its art. its not like playing a cartoony game will make you less of a man. truly mature gamers dont care about the graphics.
