To be successful it can't be more then $150 and even then I think this gen of consoles can handle VR. Rumors of a 395x2 with over 15 Gflops and people are saying that will be the 1st card capable of AAA VR. PS4 struggles to hit 1080p @ 60fps. VR needs AT LEAST 1080p to each eye at 120fps. And you can still see a screen door at 1080p. Better to go for 4k. 60fps @ 4k needs a Titan X or 295x2.
I understand where you are coming from as BB is the 1st exclusive I really want to play and my Xone is fine for multiplats. However, I am sure there is more coming and ISS, The Order and other disappointing AAA exclusives will eventually be $20 or less. I am going to get one once my in laws leave and I have my 110" at back. Too bad they don't have a slim or a 1TB option out yet. I have less then half of my Xone games currently loaded because 500 GB is too small.
Guys this is a synthetic benchmark that is designed to deal with 1 very specific bottleneck - Draw Calls. If you watch the demo run, ask yourself what % of a game might benefit? 10%? 20%?
"Microsoft execs expect frame rates to more than double when comparing DX12 to the current DX11 API."
That's probably for PCs. Xone might get a 30% bump? Trying to be conservative here so the Sony Army of pretend graphics programmers doesn't ...
This game has enough content that I got bored of the mechanics before finishing it. I put well over 100 hours into it. It doesn't need DLC and multiplayer can't be saved. It's a soulless race where 4 strangers compete to kill things as quickly as possible with no strategy tactics or cooperation.
The score definitely doesn't reflect the price. I think you have to give points to a game that's sells for $20-$30 instead of $60. Like Ori vs The Order. This is FREE!!! FH2 was a solid 8. Doesn't make sense.
We have plenty of information if you pay attention to AMD. AMD is working on a new chip for Nintendo that will go into production in 2016 and will probably debut Xmas 2017. We have known this for 4-6 months. I don't see why people are fighting this. Nintendo made a system that has several very good and unique 1st party titles. But the complete lack of 3rd party mega hits mean that the system is selling poorly. Nintendo shouldn't be forced to keep supporting a failed system and a...
1st this is just draw calls not in game performance, so your 290x or Titan X won't suddenly be 10x better. Secondly it will have the EXACT same effect on Xone regardless of what the Sony army of pretend graphics experts say. This has NOTHING to do with "coding to the metal" this has to do with allowing calls to be initiated by all cores instead of core 1. This, plus the ESRAM optimizations will likely lead to 10%-30% improvement in framerates and/or Rez. Instead of trying to...
Guys this is draw calls only. It's very reliant on compute FP64 performance. We all know that Nvidia has massively neutered this part of its cards. That's why AMD always was the choice for Bitcoin miners. Draw calls will only impact games with tons of things on screen at at the same time. This is also why DX12 isn't going to boost the Xone 100x. It will be more like a 10%-30% improvement depending on how it's used and the needs of the specific game.
Why do you wonder? You don't own a Xone and you clearly don't plan on buying one.
For those with an Xone (or PC) the beta looks awesome so ignore the Sony fanboys.
@Kane it is coop. It's just that a real human can design the level. There will also be pre made quests that you can solo with 3 AIs. Think of Neverwinter Nights.
WTF??? This is nothing but click bait. These games are all awesome.
This game has convinced me to buy a PS4. Just need my in laws to leave so I can hook it up to my 110" TV. Can anyone recommend a good bundle? I see a TLOU bundle on Amazon, but I have that for PS3. Not really interested in other PS4 exclusives. Maybe ISS. I'd like a bundle with a larger HD cause I've already had to delete half the games on my XOne.
Love all the people that clearly don't own an Xone and never will spending their time trying to convince us that they know more then everyone else and that DX12 will have NO impact on Xone and that the cloud is BS.
Just let them make their lame comments and document them so you can make them eat crow later.
Oh and X box owners need to start marking all of their comments as Offensive.
Ahhh the PS4 trolls just can't help themselves but to come on here and say DX12 will do nothing for Xone. Most can't even spell correctly much less know anything about coding. And their manhood is somehow challenged if the Xbox gets a little better. God when they see Fable, Crackdown, Scalebound and H5 using DX12 and Cloud they are going to be Sooooo mad.
Guys it is a TERRIBLE game. I have it for PC. It's UNPLAYABLE. Sooooo boring. I get called a xbox fanboy all the time so TRUST ME.
Haven't had a chance to buy and play this yet. Can't wait for the weekend. I am amazed how many perfect or near perfect scores this is getting. And just $20.
Evolve outsold The Order week 1 vs week 1. And The Order doesn't have DLC or season pass to help it. Everyone here seems to think The Order sold well, so why not Evolve?
This game is going to be sooo SICK. I'm gonna spend a fortune on it, I can tell. Being a good villain will probably cost me more then $60 (from what I understand you have to pay to unlock all the villians monsters and traps at the same time or you are stuck with a rotation), but I won't care.
Procedural generation has never been done well. It will be interesting to see if they have some "secret sauce" or if they are doing this because they have only 10 people working on this game. They are literally going to represent each planet with a 256 bit number. A few bits to determine the color scheme, a few bits to determine the type of flora, a few bits to determine the type of fauna.
I hope this doesnt end up being "ohh look a giraffes head on a hippo...
Who would hate you for asking for coop? That would be AWESOME.
Obviously more gameplay, Minimum of 8 hours of me actually in control of my character doing something other then following a NPC from scene to scene or looking at doodads that are completely irrelevant.
Make the actual fighting involve some tactics like flanking, fire suppression etc... you need to make the fighting take place in a larger 3d space not just me choosing 1 of 2 or 3 cover spots t...
Titan fall was hugely successful. The only people that think it wasn't were PS4 fanboys. TF2 is coming to PS4, so they should be happy now. I would like to see them adopt a mech building system as complex as Mech Warrior. With 5 weight classes and tons of armor, engine, weapon choices. In fact, just make it MechWarrior.
