Live will never be free. Even if gaming on Live was free I'd still pay for it due to the stuff that I need a gold account for. I watch a lot of movies and stuff via Netflix.
However I do see them changing Silver to online gaming too with a heavily ad supported version of live. When connect up to your online game an advertisement or two pops up before you play your game or/and more ads on the dashboard for silver accounts. If you gold you don't see it.

I have all three consoles and frankly jealous of PS3 games, hardly. I enjoy all the games I play be it on my 360, Wii or PS3.
Honestly I have hardly seen any advertising by Sony. The only add I've seen is the same one with Justin Timberlake during the world cup.

All the features are nice and I like them, however PSN is getting cluttered with all the nice features that have been added over the years.

Slowly features will get added to plus. Free services will get less upgrades forcing people to migrate to PSN+ till the PS4 comes along and there be no PSN+ just PSN whith a yearly fee like Xbox Live.
As a multi console owner, it will be then a battle for them to prove who I'm going to go with. I like live, but PSN feels to cluttered with all these features keep getting added.

We did not have a Facebook app on our PS3 since launch. Just a little thing to post your trophies to Facebook. You can't exactly call that facebook. Stop exaggerating.
Sure we have a browser, if you don't mind running at internet explorer 3 speeds.
