I love Resistance so of course I'm excited, but I couldn't enjoy the video with no sound, all you can hear is the deadness of TGS.
But anywho, I wish they kept the vehicles, and included them in multiplayer, but I guess I can live without that. And I wish they kept the ability to carry multiple weapons or at least have it as an option.
I think everyone need to leave it alone. The game was shown for the first time, and I'm pretty sure it's not coming out until 2009 so there's plenty of time for the game to get a lot better graphically, but looking at image 7 I can't help but to be impressed already.
I liked Gears of War, and I like RPG's, so if it is a Shooter/RPG then we may have a new genre on our hands. Bioshock was the first, and I guess you can say COD 4, and Killzone 2 are using minor RPG elements, but...

I didn't say any were better than Nintendo first party titles, that's debatable. But Sony has Resistance, Uncharted, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, Gran Turismo 5: P, Ratchet and Clank: FTD, Wipeout HD, Siren Blood Curse, and Folklore. And 6 of the 11 games I listed are new IP's where Nintendo uses it's same old stuff.
Not to mention all the games coming out before the years end. Resistance 2, Motorstorm: PR, Socom: C, and Little Big Planet.

But if you take into account what the other system have you can see why many of us are upset. They PS3 which is supposedly the hardest of the 3 to develop for has many more enjoyable hardcore titles under it's belt than the Wii does, and they both launched at the same time. There are only 10 games on this list (probably 3 thrid party title could be added), and some don't deserve to be on a list for hardcore. I must admit I was wrong all those months ago. The game looks a lot better now. It looks like they tried to take elements from Resistance and Bioshock. Hopefully it does well, and hopefully most Wii games will use this engine.
They should have done this from the start. $199 should have been the price for a Wii and it should have had DVD playback. The Wii would be in every gamers and non gamers home had that happened, but as long as it keeps selling the way it is, Nintendo will never give it a price cut.
I get what you mean. The game looks amazing no doubt, but I think the characters look out of place, because the atmosphere of the game is so much more detailed than the character models. It's like they made this Crysis-esque Africa, but dumped Oblivion characters in it. But I still thinks it's the best looking FPS on consoles this year (Resistance looks great too though).

That sucks. It made it easier for my friends to learn how to play Resistance, when they could play alongside of me. Now they have to play against hordes of chimera and probably get owned.
But I can understand why they did it, and it shouldn't stop anyone from buying the game.
Agreed. This is why Resistance is my favorite shooter since Golden Eye 64. It's Super fun, fast paced, and now the graphics are on par with some of the best games to date while being one of if not the biggest games to date.

Graphically Resistance 2 looks like a Baby Killzone 2. It has come a long way and looks amazing. Let's do the compares now that the game Insomniac really wanted to make will soon be on the shelf.
Halo 3 vs. Resistance 2 both almost 3rd gen games. (Halo less than 2 months from being 3rd gen, Resistance 2 around 2 weeks from being 3rd gen)
Resistance 2 vs. Gears 2. The gap between graphics has been narrowed almost completely.
Although Gears of War 2 still looks better than Resistance 2 we can all safely say that gap has been narrowed vastly. Resistance 2 is a much much much bigger game than Gears 2 (unless they triple the story length of the original Gears). You have a 10 - 14 SP campaign, a 10 - 14 8 player co-op campaign with a lighter but completely different story, and 60 player on-line multiplayer. Gears 2 has campaign with co-op, and 10 player multiplayer. So it's kind of hard to argue that Resistance do...
