Sounds more like Kryptic is trying to troll Septic.
Farpoint looks like a generic low quality shooter from the indie scene, but it is the most compelling game for PS VR right now.
I really hope Sony punches the kitten and go all out at E3. If not, I would be concerned.
@Ju
Perhaps you are loosing it, because Moldy puts out good points. It just so happens they are critical of Sony/Playstation. I suggest you do some self reflection and also deal with your anger.
Nobody is spinning anything. I think people are just getting disappointed with the result, and getting buyers remorse after seeing the pitiful support PS4 Pro is getting. Even Sony's own first party games are doing a pretty bad job of supporting the new console.
Only the most diehard fanatics is likely to be happy with PS4 Pro. Glad I stuck with my original PS4. Darth Vader on my PS4 is far more sexy than PS4 Pro. XD
I would say that the PS4 Pro itself was a disappointment. I mean, how can developers get excited when Sony is stumbling so much with their hardware. Boost mode compatibility issues, no supersampling in many games and so on. Heck, early on some games even performed worse! WTF? o_0
The lack of optimization is just another drop in an ocean of disappointment.
I hope Sony now goes out of their way to encourage developers to support it, or are they just going t...
It still has the most powerful CPU on any console to date. It will be the best place to play all your third party games. Oh, let's not forget the awesome upcoming exclusives too! MR solutions looks awesome and Crackdown 3 with the most advanced physics in any game to date. Saweet!
Uncompressed and native 4k, here I come!
Don't hate, get Scorpio! XD
Also, the RX580 only has 256bit interface that gives 256GB/s memory bandwidth compared to the massive 326 GB/s of Scorpio. In fact, PS4 Pro has even less than the RX580, with a measly 218 GB/s.
However it is very telling that their approximate system, easily hits native 4K around 30fps. This means, with optimization and other improvements, Scorpio can hit 4k/60fps! o_0
Saweeeet!
Even worse, they worship it. One of these days, a third party game will go against them. As a gamer, I don't want third party exclusives.
I think PS4 gamers lost the memo on games, because their number 1 reason to buy a PS4 is "resolution". Here is even a trusted source:

Meanwhile, XBL monthly active users is going gangbusters. This link is for you to get schooled:

It's Sony throwing the last bone to PS VR before it goes the way of PS Move, PS Vita, PS TV and PSP Go.
Yeah, VR got a long way to go.
I think the headline should be changed to, "With console gaming dying in Japan, what hope is there for Japan console game industry" or better yet for the best click-bait effect, "With console gaming dying in Japan, what hope is there for Playstation".
The real answer though is, what hope is there for Japanese console game developers moving forward? Sony/Nintendo is sort of keeping them on life support, but relevance is diminishing radically every year. ...
Despite the hate for Scorpio around certain sites like n4g, I expect Scorpio to sell better than PS4 Pro. o_0
Yeah, I'm looking forward to those high resolution textures you find on PC on my console now. The game will probably perform better on Scorpio than most PCs to boot. That said, the big developers are already working on Scorpio. Scorpio is ahead of schedule.
Bring on the monster!
Yet, pretty much all of those are what would be considered niche games except for Zelda, Mario Kart and maybe Odyssey when it releases.
Not bad for a dead industry yes, but bad for an industry that used to be at the center. It used to be that we expected greatness from Japan, today it is a surprise if we do.
I think the issue is more that VRAM usage will increase. Remmber, 8GB of console RAM usage is much higher on PC due to the split memory design of PCs. Scorpio also has massive memory bandwidth that only top of the line GPUs (i.e. GTX 1080) for PC is able to match.
