He didn't say he didn't care, he merely said lots of gamers don't care. This is consistent with research showing that resolution is what sold the PS4.
8TFlops would be such a weak console when the time comes. That's not a new generation, it's barely an incremental upgrade.
In that respect though, Xbox One X does seem like a next generation above PS4 Pro. That 12GB GDDR5 with 50% extra bandwidth and 2 extra TFlops..
lol. It will be marketing stunt, unless Sony expects to release PS5 in 8-years and even then MS would be releasing incremental consoles, making PS5 look incremental too.
The days of new generation is over. Technological innovation now moves to slow to make that happen so all it will be is a marketing stunt, and maybe even break compatibility. I'm looking at you Sony.
Hell, what does a new console generation mean for Sony anymore?
Actually no. PS4 Pro is almost just a PS4. The only difference is GPU increase and bump to the CPU.
Btw, Sony did do a $339 PS4 Pro last year upon launch at Amazon when the console didn't sell.
Consumers that care about cost will buy the $199 Xbox One S, or the $249 PS4 Slim. People that want the best of the best console experience by a wide margin, will pay $499 for Xbox One X.
It's the end of Xbox, MS is about to go bankrupt due to funding Xbox.
It's over, go home.
Just like gamers don't want EA Access, proper mods and crossplay. Gamers want what Sony want! /s
I can't image any PS4 gamer who would want loss of access to existing games, a mediocre console performance upgrade (yes, all consoles will have this moving forward) and start over. Even if you are immediately switching to PS5, there is no reason to want Sony to stop supporting PS4.
Phil Spencer is a wise man.
The problem is the shovelware that is being pushed on PS VR. At least on PC, there are some interesting indie devs doing stuff there you can jump on.
There might be 2% attachment rate on PS VR, but the usage rate is probably a tiny fraction of that.
If you have to ask, you probably can't spot the difference.
The answer is no, it's not true 4k. However, there is enough processing power to go beyond 4k, basically supersampling for 4k. Which is kind of crazy really, but that is what you get with the world's most powerful console by a wide margin.
The salt is strong with this one.
Turns out it was official. Sony going for a new low. How did Sony Playstation go from industry darling to the evil corporation it is now?
Maybe it is Kaz Hirai's leadership finally showing through. Arrogance powered by Kaz Hirai since 2012.
So you are saying it is going to get better?
Your comment is a waste. I can taste the salt in your comment though! XD
It's Sony gagging the developer.
According to Pachter, the PS4 Pro sales aren't doing very good. Maybe drop the price $50 and bundle in a game since Xbox One X is coming?
Spiderman does look great.
@omni
agreed! Toby Maguire is the best Spiderman. I don't like the reboot either.
In short, expect the best console experience period by a wide gap!
If you come from PC space, expect a thousand dollar plus high end PC experience in a console form factor for $500.
So you spent $2k on your PC, and then you are going to wait 5-years for the game to drop to $9.99?
That's good use of your PC. /s
I will spend $499 on my console, and enjoy this game this year for a fraction of what you paid.
