What are you talking about? Gears 4 had Horde from launch day. It wasn't missing and was the most complete Horde ever. Forge for Halo isn't a main aspect of the game, but it is there now. These games have massive support since launch, and even Recore is getting an update.

There are that thing we get with playing with people on PC and Switch. I think they call it cross play. Xbox One X happens to also be the best console version of games, and is also the best platform to play it on.
Since there are far more good multiplatform games than exclusives, I think I will be fine.

If you want the best console can offer, and way ahead of the competition, then yes. You will have to pay up for it. It's not cheap to be on the cutting edge.
If you want something cheaper and lesser experience, there is PS4 Pro. It will likely be on sale for $349 this holiday.
