Tedious is a great word for the difficulty in Souls games. It’s not that they’re impossible, it’s that those games require a lot of time and dedication to overcome their challenges. Most gamers will tell me to “go screw and play your games on story mode.” I have a teenager that is going to buy elden ring. I will watch him play. If it’s anything like a souls game, then I’ll be watching him beat his head against a wall, night after night of tedious grinding in order to advance.

The replies to IGN’s review of this game, are citing the games lack of difficulty and some are commenting they won’t play it because it’s too easy. Nowhere in any review I’ve gone over has it said the game is easy. If anything they are saying it’s hard and that some bosses they haven’t beaten yet. I have struggled with FROM games because of their difficulty. Not because I can’t overcome those challenges but because, I don’t have hours upon hours of my time to dedicate to video games like I us...

I suck at all of them. Never finished any. YouTubers make it look easy. I just suck at the execution and don’t have the focus to succeed in souls games. I hope Elden ring is forgiving, for gamers that don’t have the intestinal fortitude to finish a souls game.

I knew 2k obtained the 3rd party baseball license years ago. It was to my understanding that 2k was the only 3rd party developer allowed to make an mlb licensed game after 2005. I remember EA making an NCAA baseball game for a year or two after that and it flopped. I wasn’t aware EA chose to walk away. I know they had gotten the NFL deal. Which I agree with you, was an awful decision on behalf of the NFL to give those rights exclusively to EA. Hopefully the NFL and MLB have learned from that ...

I was upset when MVP baseball was forced to go away after 2005. I thought that game had the best balance of a baseball sim and fun. MLB 2k just felt broken every year. Mlb the Show, has always felt too realistic for my taste. If any developer can resurrect a licensed baseball game I hope it’s the developer that made MVP baseball. Another sleeper baseball game is Super Mega Baseball. I’d love for them to be able to make a licensed baseball game. That game seems way over the top, but statistica...

Depends on what their plans are with Bungie. Sony has been good about introducing new IP’s the last handful of years. Perhaps they will work with Bungie on creating something new for the future. Who knows

How far along in development is this game? Did they they have a meeting this week and just start working on it or are we a few years in? I’m 44yo and trying to survive this pandemic. I don’t want to wait until 2027!

My hope is that the difficulty is as hard as you want it to be. For example, to get the best items, and the best experience, you’ll need to get passed the most challenging parts of the game. To finish it but still get a satisfying experience, you can push through the main story lines. I feel if the game is too difficult, it will ruin an open world experience.

Start your engines!!!!! I’ve been missing the hollow rubbery thud of my car as I plow into my competition taking corners!! Seriously looking forward to this one though. It’s been a long time coming

Horizon forbidden west comes out in February. Until elder scrolls 6 or Diablo 4 comes out, I’m not going to care about that acquisition. Only when those games are ready for launch does one need to consider getting an Xbox series X. Hopefully by then, the machines will be in store shelves and not so hard to acquire. For now, PS owners have alot to look forward to in the next couple of months

I don’t regret selling my series X and getting a PS5. Since the Xbox 360 I’ve felt that the Xbox 1st party games have gone stale. Playing spiderman, horizon, and ratchet and clank has been a refreshing experience. So far I love the dual sense. Performance wise, the PS5 is great. The series X was awesome too. I feel 1st party games on the series X perform and look slightly better but that might be because I don’t have it anymore. Either way, both machines are great

Guerilla games just received a cease release for Horrizon forbidden west for February. Microsoft has purchased them and the game will release on Xbox platforms next fall. Just Kidding! That would suck. Looking forward to that game for awhile

I agree with this article and have stated the same concerns. Not sure why I got hundreds of dislikes. I fear a monopoly and in some regard this takes me back to 2005 when EA purchased the NFL license and are the only company that can make an NFL licensed football game. I’m always hopeful this will translate into a better and more innovative product for us gamers. The reality of this, is that, it turns out into yearly cash grabs of just above average products on tight deadlines. We’ve seen wha...

I wish could agree with you, but the sad reality is that these games will no longer be on a PlayStation platform. That’s one of the reasons of the acquisition.

Everyone is speculating microsoft is basically going to acquire every AAA third party developer. Why don’t they just buy SONY and be done with it? The Aquisition of Activision this week and Bethesda last year does kind of suck for PlayStation owners. Let’s face it though, neither of those companies have been churning out must play titles for awhile. If Call of duty, Elder Scrolls, dishonored, the eventual Diablo title are released for the Xbox only, then it’s time to go purchase an Xbox syste...

Hopefully this makes their games better. Is this just a money grab for Microsoft?

I still throw Bioshock infinite on once and awhile. It still looks great even against todays games.

1468d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Bioshock infinite had some sneaky borderline racist moments that I feel weren’t necessary. For example, giving you the option to throw a baseball at a interracial couple. During the scripted event it never goes that far. It’s the fact that they give you a choice that I found unnecessary.

Hopefully we will be able to add police chases VIA Mods! Imagine the game is punishingly difficult, and you find out months later, there was a “shotgun/grenade launcher next to where you start, that allows you to “one shot” your way through the game! A middle earth game with a shotgun!

The creator says it’s because he made it and the experience doesn’t feel fresh to him, because he knows all the nooks and cranny’s within the game. In other articles, it states that this isn’t a “Souls style” game. It will seem less difficult because it’s an open world game, but there are supposedly “challenging” areas that only the most dedicated gamers will be able to get through. Now I have to find which article I read this, before I get trolled. Ugh….
