Ps2's were a lot better. They had an acceptable, although still on the high side, failure rate. AT most 5%. The 360, on the other hand, has a 20-30% failure rate. 4-6x what the ps2 was. 20-30% failure rate for something that is $300-$400 is absolutely ridiculous.
One console would be one hell of a bad idea for gamers. Think we pay to much for games now? Well if this happens, think $100 per game. Think $15 a month for online play, plus the specific games subscription fee. Say goodbye to good games and hello to Halo 2008, Halo 2009, Halo 2010, and Halo 2011. Why push technology, when you the only one who can.

Warcraft 3 is a great example. I have 512mb ram and a crappy x300 gpu and i can run it at maximum video settings 60fps. And the online community is still large and nice, except for the DOTA pricks.
I think he didn't want to give people any doubt about his faith in the ps3. And the gaming media, just like any other bullsh*t media today, will spin words to make them sound interesting. Both Microsoft and Sony fall for it a lot and it seems sony's not letting them do that this time.
Ya letting people know about the next Halo via two pissed off companies yelling at each other is a much better way to announce a game.

They would be making more money if they stopped spending all their money on exclusive DLC and timed exclusives.
Sony has more than enough money too spend on 3rd party games. They just know that there is no point. With development costs soaring ever higher, 3rd party exclusives are dieing out. They're being smart, building up their first party studios, so they will have all the good exclusives not just in the near future, but far away from now too.
Every company takes ideas from one another, both Sony and Microsoft. if they hadn't, there would be no Sony or Microsoft, or even Nintendo. copying is when a company blatantly steals another companies idea without personalizing it. I think thats what avatars failed too do. They look way to much like mii's. Its obvous that they're are there too combat both home and Mii. They should of found another to get the same results.

Id rather wait and have it great then rushed and have it suck. Good for Sony not rushing things just to get it out as soon as possible.
Ms barely had any games to show. And the ones they did show were mostly multiplatform. They showed stupid casual games and obviously think that they can imitate the wii's success. But its not gonna happen, the wii looks amazingly fun. And in the end, people will buy what looks fun.

If its all about games, the ps3 wins hands down. Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Motorstorm 2, Quest for Booty, Infamous, MAG, God of War 3, FF13*, Fallout 3*, Rockband 2*, Resident Evil 5*, Mirror's Edge*, The Agency, Gran Turismo 5, Far Cry 2*, and Little Big Planet. 360 has the ones above with asterisks, Fable 2, Halo Wars, and Gears of War 2.
