There are tons and tons of developers who prefer the ps3 to the 360. And vice-versa. Carmack's opinion is no more important than any other developer. And he didn't really say that the 360 was better, just easier to work with.

Video games won't be a mainstream sport because its not really fun to watch people play games. You'd rather play them yourselves. Sure, it will get its own following, but the average person, even the average gamer i don't believe will be interested in watching people play games.

You know why you read a lot of articles that say MGS4 underwhelmed, because it gets your website hits. Same with Halo 3, GTA 4, and any other game that gets hyped incredibly. It makes you seem like a critical journalist, when in reality, you want more money from ads for Google.

Actually most people see it as the only game that justified the hype it got.
If IGN let two different people review lets say MGS4, do you think they'll come out the same? No, one might give it a 10, one might say its an 8. And there are a number of reasons why they'll see different. Game Reviews are all opinions, there not based on facts or anything, just one persons review. And, One guy might give out 10's a little easier than a some other guy, who's 7 is other people's 10's. Game Reviews will always be broken if this continues. And it's not an easy problem to solve ...

It means that its a ps3 exclusive and it will release at the the same time in all territories.

Demo for ps3 japan (my guess). A ps3 English demo (and probably 360) might come in another square enix game, like FF12.

I think The next PlayStation will be very similar to the ps3. It will have some variation on the cell processor (like dual), blu-ray, and probably some more xdr ram. The next Wii will be HD and will be cheap. The next Xbox is a total toss up.
