"Imagine going to blockbuster and instead of renting whatever you want the guy behind the counter give you a game at random."
I would, but unfortunately blockbuster no longer exists....
But to add to your blockbuster point, you could only "rent" what games/movies were available, and these titles would rotate every month or so, just like gamepass does now. The only difference is gamepass is cheaper than blockbuster ever was, so......
When a game does not need it to be 60fps....
Can't wait for this to hit Series X, dishonored is a great franchise, and anything that is close to it will get some playtime from me.
A drop from 60fps to 55fps will not be noticed unless you count the frames using specialised software.
Running on a TV it will just feel like 60. If it dropped in the 40-50 range it might be noticeable.
Like i said above, frame drops are most likely the result of needing more optimization or a bug.
"They really need to lower the resolution on the Series X. I imagine that would clean up the framerate since it's not that far off 60"
No, they just need to optimize a bit more, iron out any bugs causing frame drops, and have it at 4K @ 60fps.
"Series x drops frames even when there’s nothing happening. Literally just walking and it’s dropping frames . Suppen ain’t right"
Most probably a bug that will be patched at launch, after all this is a demo.....
Common sense :-
Higher resolution = frame drops
Lower resolution = stable frames
It's a trade off people, as long as the game plays well and is enjoyable, who cares?
"In the case of Series X, it runs at dynamic 4K while in the case of Series S, the resolution doesn’t appear to run higher than 1440p."
Quite sure i stated this game would not be 4K on the Series S, and by golly the downvotes and ba...
"BTW Sony didn't wanted to conquer the Gaming world with streaming, like big mouth Microsoft."
So why would they pay $380 million dollars, to acquire a cloud based streaming service called Gaikai, if they did not want to try and capitalize on streaming?
"Microsoft is the richest company, has all the server farms and came years after PS now"
You mean those Azure servers that Sony are/want to use for said streaming...
Judging by current trailers/gameplay, i would put Returnal at a 8/10 minimum.
And i own Series X.
Exactly, you get it, the developers "limits" not the console :p
@mikeslemonade
If something is "maxed" and at its "limits" then it can not be improved upon.
Games will improve on the console, so it is not at its "limit" or "maxed".
That is like saying "my car has a max speed of 90 miles an hour, but if i change gear sooner, it will go faster".
I sincerely doubt they would be pushing a brand new console to its limits already lol.
That is like saying "this is the best we can do, games will not improve"
"We are pushing the console as far as we can so far with the time spent developing on it" - fixed
As for pushing to its "limits"? No chance
I thought a lol might have been enough to not trigger lol.
On topic though, all next-gen consoles are good within their own right and i am looking forward to some of the yet unannounced games and experiences.
@RgR
"Can you go into the ini files and change anything on console?"
That is not tweaking graphics settings in game though is it? which is the discussion here. We are not talking modding games.
To tweak graphics settings on a PC game you do not need to change .ini files, they have sliders in the in-game options to turn features on/off.
"And no Xbox games will not require an SSD since they also release o...
I know it seems a lot, but to put the cost in comparison, i have just spent £12 at mcdonalds for my dinner.
I think you are correct on Microsoft's store pricing, i think 12 months of gold is around £59.99 when bought through the xbox directly, but i very rarely go direct through MS lol. Currently £49.99 at Amazon, and £39.99 at CDKeys.
I recently upgraded to Ultimate as i was paying for both subs seperately lol
I think the reduction will happen once most gamers are subbed to Ultimate, it is by far the current best value out of the options.
I think the plan is to keep those that just want gold, paying for gold with the option to get gamepass alongside.
As for GWG, they will not be going anywhere, and Gamepass cost will be frozen until gamers migrate to Gamepass Ultimate. Once the majority of gamers are subbed to Ultimate, gold will be scrapped, with minimal outcry as most will be subbed to Ultimate.
It is definately going that way with the current pricepoints/strategy
"rip off service that gives customers no option to buy the games leaving the service."
Don't post false information, you just make yourself look silly.
Games that are leaving the service are offered to be purchased at a discounted price for gamepass subscribers, if you were a subscriber yourself you would know this.
