Had they shortened/toned-down their exclusivity deal with Sony I would've considered buying Destiny 2. But I have a hard time paying the same price for less content and having to wait 1-2 years to get the timed content. I get that these deals are commonplace, and yes CoD does it too.. but 1 month is a world apart from 1-2 years. Hopefully they address some things like raid matchmaking and the recycled content DLC for those who pick it up.

Not wild about the website layout for this article to make it appear to have more substance than it has. 2 sentences, screenshot.. repeat until we're out of fluff.

Well I generally disagree.. the problem is they don't have first party studios making games to the caliber that Naughty Dog and now Guerrilla Games are with their studios. So if the argument is that they shouldn't focus on story-driven single-player games, I disagree. They shouldn't try to copy those games (example: Dante's Inferno<->God of War), but they should take some risks by either building or acquiring studios that keep talent and work on multiple projects. Nau...

Haha exactly! I wouldn't go so far as to say there isn't demand for the Switch, but Nintendo is abysmal at meeting demand for their new product launches. Which leads us to believe it's intentional.. how can they possibly have this issue at every launch if it ISN'T intentional? For a company with legitimate questions on how leadership is handling recent decisions in both hardware and software, they need to have a much bigger supply stock before launch. How is it Apple is ab...

Agree with pretty much everything you said, except that the Scorpio will be great for the hardcore xbox fans, while the Xbox One S will be for the core fan.

The main issues I see the Scorpio facing is it's targeting the 4K market which you mentioned is not mainstream. It'll have the power to run VR (such as Fallout 4 VR) but VR is also a niche market. So it's sort of a premium product for a minority of their audience.. I hope it sells well, but I don't se...

The Wii also was priced $100 cheaper than the Switch and had a pack-in game. The price of the switch is going to hold it back from having multiple systems in a household, not to mention the highly limited selection of games.

Well the Xbox One launched at $500 and sold well enough.. but the price disparity between it and the PS4 certainly contributed to the success of the PS4. And I'd also expect that the price difference between Scorpio and PS4 pro will have a similar result. Even if they boast having a 4K Blu-ray drive which the PS4 pro doesn't have, I'm not sure the market for 4K discs is enough for consumers to spend $50-100 more for the Scorpio. So as I've implied, I expect Scorpio to be ei...

I get that both consoles do this to various games, but the timeframe for the exclusive content in Destiny and likely Destiny 2 is obscenely long. Originally 1 year, and 2 years for the Rise of Iron content. The biggest problem I had with it in Destiny was that we paid the same price, but had less content to do. There's only a handful of strikes to do, and a limited number of exotic weapons in the loot table. So even if it was 1-2 strikes, and 2-4 weapons.. that's still 10-20% of t...

Should help with load times at the very least, everything I've run on BC runs better than the original.

Surprised they didn't announce the Season pass first. Absolutely going to skip this game, Sony paid them enough money that I'm sure they won't miss mine.

It was excellent gameplay marred by a diluted story and repetitive structure. I enjoyed it when I played it, and was equally elated when I finally stopped playing it.

The worst thing about Destiny was how each DLC punished those who didn't buy it by taking away some of the very few things you could do. Strike and Crucible playlists would be halved if you didn't own the latest DLC.. very scummy.

September 26th 2017.. managed to read it through the pop up ad that obscures the article. I love websites that push advertising to the point their site is unreadable until you click it away.

Not every year.. but I'd guess every other year.

I just read multiple sites and reviews to gather a consensus opinion on whether to try it or skip it. If it's a single-player experience I usually just gamefly it, but if it has multiplayer worth playing or is good enough to justify buying I'll wait for a deal and get it on the cheap.

They're definitely pushing things back to the end of the year to support the Scorpio launch. To answer Captain_Tom, of course Xbox will have exclusives.. and to think otherwise is idiotic. For at least the time being there will be no Scorpio-exclusive titles though.. part of their strategy is the play everywhere, forward-compatible, every game works on every xbox mindset. Crackdown 3 will likely be 'better on Scorpio' since it's taken them so long to get it running on the b...

Still hoping for Trials: Evolution myself.. every other Trials game is available including Trials HD which came before it. Evolution was the best in the series, and helps one forget that Trails Fusion exists.

Agreed, the light boost for old raids needed to happen before or with The Taken King. At that time their philosophy was to let the old content wither away. So it seems odd that NOW they decide to finally revisit the old raids as they prepare to sunset this game.

I'm actually a bit concerned for Bungie/Destiny 2, having read that their contract with Activision requires that Destiny 2 come out this year or they have to give up a majority of Bungie shares to Activision....

For real.. for less than the cost of a decent video card you can own the console. I say the same thing to people who bitch about PS4 exclusives and own an Xbox.. save $250 and just go the GD console.

Good god, what a bad page layout for the linked post. No more than 3 sentences before you get a screenshot, ad, or link to another post.
Anyhow, the point is still solid.. I said this on a similar post the other day, but adding DLC risks fracturing a community that is already a minority. To own MW:R you needed to pay either $80 or $100 to get it and Infinite Warfare. So right away you've got some most playing IW and the rest playing MW:R. Lobbies are already sparse for some g...

Looks like this is a slide-centric post to garner up more clicks, so here's the list as presented: Until Dawn, The Last Guardian, Days Gone, Bloodborne, Death Stranding, Nioh, Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Hard for any Xbox fan to be jealous of Days Gone and Death Stranding as there's been no word on Days Gone since last year and Death Stranding will likely be out in 2019. But imagine there's some salty Xbox players who wish they had Horizon, Nioh, and Until Dawn. Conso...
