I have already beaten Horizon Zero Dawn twice. Once on PS4 and then again on PS5. I have no intention of playing this game a 3rd time.

@Fr0sty There is a difference between AMD's FSR and the options what Nvidia or Intel has to offer. FSR uses an open-source algorithm to upscale the images while the competition uses an AI algorithm. An advantage of FSR compared to the others is that FSR can be implemented on almost any GPU while the technologies that uses AI tend to see superior performance but is preparatory to each respective platform.
While we don't know for sure how the PS5 Pro will translate in raw performance, I think this attempt is amazing. I am a little concerned about the GPU of choice because the RX 7700 XT only has 54 compute units compared to the PS5 pro 60 compute units. I would rather spend $20 more and get the RX 6800. I would compromise on the 2 TB storage and settle for a 1 TB storage. You can always upgrade in the future to a 2TB or better when the price further comes down.

Unfortunately, no AMD GPU has AI image upscaling capabilities. PSSR is Sony's attempt to start development in that area, however, one thing to note is that this will be the first iteration of PSSR. When we look back at Nvidia's DLSS or Intel's XeSS, the first iteration is usually nothing special.
We will likely see better utilization of PSSR with the second iteration when the PS6 releases.
I believe you are mistaken. The PC is the platform that has the most exclusives. Every indie game I can think of is on the PC while some have yet to be released on consoles. There are also fan-made games like Mario and the Rainbow Stars, which is the best 2d Mario game I have ever played.

They said the Rx 6800 would be comparable however it doesn't have the AI frame gen features like Intel and Nvidia cards. An RX 6800 is currently $360 on Amazon.

It's unfortunate. I noticed a few guys on my friend's list that are active gamers but haven't even booted up Astro's Playroom even though they had the console since 2021.

Sony already indicated that this gen is in the "latter half". If the PS4 Pro didn't extend the duration of last gen then I doubt the PS5 Pro will do the same.

The duration of a Sony generation is usually 6-7 years. We are currently approaching the 4th year mark which means that by Nov 2026, we will be anticipating the launch of a new system. My advice is to just set something aside for that instead of getting the PS5 pro.

I don't think most people are complaining just because they can't afford it. There are currently millions of PS5 owners who could not afford the launch price either. Instead, they can see the value and they saved up.
The backlash here is that we do not see the value that would warrant a 57% increase in price. It also causes worry that these prices are bringing the console pricing close to PC prices.
The problem with your reasoning is that unlike the PC, the enhancements for the PS5 pro requires the developers update their game. If this is not something Sony wished to sell to the masses then there is very little incentive for developers to update their game to take advantage of the new features.
It is more likely that Sony has this high price to maximize profits and they believe people will pay for it like they do with Apple products.
Seeing GTAV so high on the list leads me to believe whenever someone buys a PlayStation, they will automatically buy GTAV.
