They have a deal with Sony on that one plus it would take a lot of work to port to the series consoles. The game hardly hits 60 fps on the base PS5 in performance mode. They would have to figure something out to work on the series S.
@repsahj If you are a console-only gamer and will remain a console-only gamer for the rest of your life then I suppose the PS5 Pro is for you, however, the $699 price will make people who don't mind gaming on PC start to wonder if they should start planning their build.
Of course it's positive because of the enhanced games they got to play, however, there is an important question they need to answer. Is this worth $700 or are you better off building a ryzen 7600 + rx 6800 or rx 7700 xt PC?
LOL I must have a dirty mind. When I read that my mind started to wonder where it shouldn't.
The gameplay looks good but the graphics and character designs look cartoonist.
The only place I saw it stand out was during the Dragon Age Vailguard gameplay where a woman was leading a bunch of medieval characters. Fyi some of those characters were white males.
Ultimately I don't care about it that much as long as it doesn't get weird. I like seeing multiple groups of people being represented in games and movies rather than just the "white male" lead we have been seeing since the mediums started. This will make gaming more attractiv...
This is one of the most shameless lawsuits I have seen a major corporation do in years. Rather than innovate further in the genre, they want to stomp out competition.
I agree that Palworld has shamelessly taken inspiration from many games such as Pokemon, Elden Ring, Ark Survival, and Zelda Breath of the Wild, but I don't think the lawsuit on patent infringement is appropriate.
@Bigfish Meta does support their headset with regular updates, adding features, etc. There is also a major difference between those headsets and the PSVR2. Those headsets were built on an open PC platform, while PSVR2 was made for a walled-off console garden, which ultimately means Sony would be solely responsible for keeping it alive.
@MrDead like I said pros and cons. Some of those issues can alleviated with alleviated with regulatory intervention to give more transparency to the industry but unlikely anytime soon with all the lobbying going on.
The issue with the squid game's writer can be attributed to the terms and conditions he agreed to. It happens often in business as no one really knows how popular something will be until you catch that lightning in a bottle. I remember reading about how Nin...
Only about 1% of PS5 owners will be able to get this limited edition console. You will also be competing with scalpers with their bots, Sony's staff and new PS5 customers.
It would be better if they just sold the plates and controllers until the end of the year to not create this headache for their customers.
There are pros and cons to everything. Streaming services like Netflix is no different than cable tv except it is on demand. Services like Netflix has made it so that more studios can get a share in the profit where they can reach more consumers worldwide compared to the old days where the masses will only watch a few new titles per month.
The only negative about streaming services is that it no longer makes any sense to sell DVDs and Blu-rays though it can be argued that t...
I tried doing the math on this. If they spend approximately $1B per year on just securing titles for game pass and assuming each subscriber spends $15 per month on gamepass, they will need to have 5.5M recurring subscribers each month to cover that cost.
The latest figure revealed their subscriber count is 34M as of February 2024. It is not clear if that number has declined with the cost increase of the service since then but it is possible that the Xbox is profitable in t...
It reminds me of the activity tab on the PS4. I can finally see what my friends are up to without being forced to use the PS App
I want that controller
To me, the armadillo levels were the most frustrating. It's a good thing there are only 2 or 3 of them.
That Grand Master challenge was crazy. Kids ain't playing that
The patenting of game mechanics does nothing but stifle creativity. These parents should not be able to hold up in a court of law.
Nintendo patenting throwing an object to capture a creature is just disgusting and ensures they have no competition in the creature capture genre.
Xbox has unfortunately made their console irrelevant by releasing their games on other consoles and going out of their way to make it so you don't need an Xbox.
Their developers are also out of touch. They are listing to DF recommendations about console games being ok at 30 fps even though they are not console gamers. They were actually shocked when Mark Cerny came out and said 75% of users on PS5 play in performance mode. Because of this, Avowed will likely be Dead on...
I had no issue with the banter between the characters. They often spoke about stuff that added to the lore.
I wouldn't go that far. I am one of the few who think the last State of Play was ok, but if you are a fan of games, then you will like the Xbox TGS showcase.
The Xbox is still missing the king of jrpgs with FF7 and FF16 missing from their console.
