I don't expect much. I can't remember anybody announced something big at Gamescom. Well except 2009 with a PS3 slim and a pricecut.
I can't wait for anythinge new Halo. Easily my most favorite franchise ever.

CoD just became the best selling game ever in the UK and you really think Silent Hill HD remake on PS3 is beating Gears, Battlefield and Uncharted?

Unbelievable to see Xbox 360 leading the charts.7 out of the top10 are Xbox titles.
It surprises me not to see Forza up there.
Same for Halo anniversary.

Sony used to own the videogame industry. Now they are in third place. The PS2 was a great success and so was the PS1. The PS3 is now in last place and struggling to sell 50% of the PS2.
So they failed to keep their market share this gen. MS and Nintendo on the other hand improved their market share a lot. That was my point.
Gears of War: Exile?
A franchise that sells 8 million units won't die that quickly. Look at it this way: People spent probably more than 1 billion USD at retail for Gears of War on Xbox 360.
Plus consoles moved, live subscription sold, DLC downloaded etc etc. Enough money to warrant a bright future.
What Nintendo and MS have done this generation is outstanding.
Last gen, they sold 46 million consoles combined worldwide (24m Xbox, 22m GCN) Now they are at 62 million in the USA alone. This is an incredible achivement for both companies.
Sony on the other hand failed miserably to keep the market share.
Germany seems not to be MS focus this gen. Don't know why though.
I hope Doom 4 will be a Xbox 3 / PS4 title in 2 years. I need a new Doom on consoles.
Could be a great battle between the new Unreal Engine with Gears of War 4, new iD Engine with Doom 4 and a new Crytec Engine with Crysis 3.
That would be a graphical overkill.

I think these sources are quite credible. The numbers are official.
According to official numbers, Xbox 360 is outselling PS3 worldwide.
A few things to consider:
- You need a valid student ID for this offer
- It started in May, these are June numbers.
- It started with $699 Laptops
- Only retail stores that had this offer was Bestbuy and MS stores
- Only online stores: HP.com, Dell.com and Microsoft.com
- Sony runs the same kind of promotion with TVs
I think Xbox 360 sold extremly well even without this offer.
WOW That was unexpected. MS is on a role.
Imagine what a pricecut in September could do with the release of Gears of War 3. The last major pricecut happened in 2008, just a reminder.

The Xbox 360 is the best selling console in 2011 worldwide. Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft numbers back me up. If you disagree, you can't accept reality.

1.4 million Wiis
2.7 million Xbox 360s.
FACT. No estimates, no projected sales, just sales.
I will play both, what about you? Probably miss Gears, right? Too bad, great franchise.
I am using Xbox Live, Steam, PSN and Battle.net. It is true, XBL is by far the best service on the market. You pay 4 USD per month, but the service is without a doubt the best experience.
PERIOD.

Two billion is quite a lot. Exclusive GTA, Bioshock and RDR, would be a great plus for every console manufacturer.
Imagine: Halo 4 Launchtitle, next year Fable + Forza, next year Gears of war 4, next year exclusive GTA... That would be insane.
