Microsoft just opened three new studios. And this "They shouldhave bought Bungie" is BS. They owned Bungie and let them go, because they wanted to be independent again. This happened in very mature way. Check Activision and Infinity Ward to see how you can mess this up.
MS publishes games they think are worth it. They don't buy studios. Check Gears of War. Nothing...
Resistance won't be AAA. Maybe the remakes will, don't know though.
I think Resistance 3 might not be as successful as R1 and R2. Somehow there is no hype for this game.
I am patiently waiting for a Xbox 360 pricecut. The last major pricecut was in 2008. Make a Kinect bundle with 250Gb HDD for $249 and watch sales explode.
Better for them. Twisted Metal had no chance against the crowded holiday lineup anyway. Gears of war, uncharted, CoD would have killed it.
A nice addition of course. I would not mind this at all. Talking to my girlfriend on her phone while I am playing Halo Reach for no charge is pretty sweet if you ask me.
I think turn10 did an awesome job building this franchise. I think Forza 5 on Xbox 720 might be a real hardware mover.
Lawsuits in thus industry have never been beneficial for the gamers.
The sleeper hits this holiday season will be:
- Dance Central 2
- Kinect Sports 2
- Batman AC
A lot of people were amazed with the first Batman plus it is a very strong franchise for Casuals and core gamers. Kinect Sports outsold Killzone 3 by more than one million units and growing. dance central sold more than two million units as well. N4G loves to ignore these titles for obvious reasons (Kinect, Casual, Microsoft)
Actually he is right. gamescom has more visitors than E3. there is no gaming expo bigger than Gamescom when it comes to visitors. E3 still has the best media coverage.
Gears of war will do crazy numbers. so will do skyrim and forza.
Talking about new features. What about Kinect headtracking, Kinect voice control, New tracks, new engine, new world tour single player campaign?
That is far more innovation than the average FPS gets away with these days.

Plus a lot of guys straight from Bungie.
Gears is doing crazy numbers. I think it might cross 8million lifetime.
CoD and Battlefield are shaping up well.
No Halo and no Forza is a little bit strange to me.
So far the Xbox is 600k ahead in 2011.
And what is this active userbase bs? I mean a lot of market research is done to get the "sold to consumer" stuff right and we are still debating about it.
There is no, ABSOLUTELY NO, way to count , estimate or whatever an active userbase. The problems start with the definition of active.

- Story wise it is the best shooter on the market. Deep and rich story with dozens of battles, fights that still needs to be told.
- Gameplay wise it transformed the shooter on consoles for all time.
- It brought Multiplayer gaming and eSports on consoles. The MP is unmatched
- the content delivered is crazy. Forge World, replay, the lobby system, the customisation of game modes is huge.
