Lol dudes got his panties in a bunch.

Let the man be and enjoy his game and his fav reviewer. No need to go all nazi gestapo on him.

@septic I honestly don't care but I find it unsavory that msft would hold the dev to a standard (see my comment above) that they themselves don't seem to hold in regards to messaging to its consumer base like we're some sort of idiots.

Well according to metacritic for a game to be universally or critically acclaimed it must be 90-100.

The fact the matter is that this is what all pubs hold their devs to in determining incentive payouts and royalties.

Bethesda held off on paying obsidian its bonus for Fallout New Vegas because it didn't hit 85+ on metacritic and that was the starting point of the spectrum.

Come on now.. Let's be real. We know publishers don't give devs a bonus if they don't make 90+ on meracritic so it's a measurement critera for success they themselves have come up with... And for microsoft to try to say quantum break was critically acclaimed basically insults the gamer's intelligence.

@machua

I don't pretend to know the quality of the game or judge it without playing it yet. But based off of overall reviews it's clear that it's divisive.

Out of 78 reviews 23 of them are below 80 - 4 that are 40s, 7 in the 60s, 12 in the 70s, 20 in 90s+ and the rest are sitting in the middle.

The reason why I say there may be an underling issue is typically that is the difference between a game that receives universal acclaim vs...

Cuz they are nonreputable sites.

Metacritic had criteria on this - proven track record of consistently posting reviews, duration, established proven proccess, well written, legit, etc

Proponent of the game probably scouring the net to find even a glimmer of possitive nugget and posting it on n4g

It just means it's devisive. If it was the only 4 Id agree with you that someone is trolling but the fact there are a number of high profile outlets giving similar scores may indicate some underlying issue that is not clearly perceptible to us.

Sure that's exactly what happened because logic dictates that microsoft despite having a pattern of forcing studios to doing things not of its voalition offered up the chance for the studio to either do its own thing or work on a potential cash cow IP. I think your absolutely right - I must be out outside the realms of reality here.

And your right that working the gears franchise gives the studio more creative freedom than working its own IP.

Let's se...

Lol how it happened? Coalition when it was known as black tusk was working on an exciting new IP code name Shanghesit. And Microsoft bought the gears IP in a fire sale from Epic and decided to can black tusks game so they can work on the gears IP. I'm sure they were all thrilled with it/s.

tBH we still don't know if it's in the right hands or not.

Sad face Sam Lake :,-(

To above, games are reviewed as a whole package. I'm sure gameplay received more points than story/cinematically of the equation but I'm sure live TV part brought the overall down - namely streaming and buffering during along segment leaving a bitter taste in everyone's mouth.

What?? what happened.

Recore is most def getting pushed back. Msft knows it but wait till later to tell us at the last opportune time.

ohhhhhh buuuuurrrrn! Sam lake just outed microsoft and the googlymook PR statement about additional time needed to polish the game.

@slightlyretarded

Nah less so in America it's been known as primarily a euro-Netherlands pride thing. You can trace this back to ps2 days where euopean critics give a slight edge go euro devs, carries into sports like football(soccer, etc)

It seems to be holding s respectable 78 on metacriic with 68 reviews. It's not counting digital trends but not sure if it's enough to bring it down to 77.

3581d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Wow a perfect 10 - really? I guess what they say about reviewers supporting devs near their home territory...

3581d ago 18 agree10 disagreeView comment

Wow this game is devisive - 61 reviews so far and about 20 of them below 70 most in the middle with a handful above 90.

3581d ago 21 agree3 disagreeView comment
