Well, I’m just saying the least possible amount would be 6 million. I imagine it has a higher attach rate in other regions. Plus, Sony’s 20% figure was the percentage after Pro’s launch, ie 1 in 5 PS4’s sold after November 10th last year were Pro’s, in which case 6 million would actually be more than 20%; it’d be more around 33%, which is even better.
That means around 1 our of every 12 PS4’s there is a Pro. Not too bad, considering the Pro has only been out for a year. If it has a similar attach ratio for the rest of the world, that’s still at least 6 million Pro’s sold WW. Still not bad for a mid gen upgrade. Hopefully we get actual figures for WW.
It’s better than the < 2000 X units sold there.
@Sirk How long have you been playing Pokémon? I’m talking about full on generation gaps
Pokemon US releases:
Red & Blue: 1996
Gold & Silver: 2000
Ruby & Saphire: 2003
Diamond & Pearl: 2007
Black & White: 2010
X & Y: 2013
Sun & Moon: 2016
There’s never been less than 3 years between new generations.
I’m personally hoping Pokemon doe...
Polygon.
I wouldn’t call Switch the “most important”.
That title definitely goes to PS4. 1) people were anticipating that dedicated consoles this gen would face a slow and painful death at the hands of mobile gaming, but PS4 has long since shattered that stigma. 2) if MS had their way with Xbox because PS4 somehow failed to appeal, more than likely would’ve stuck to their original model which would’ve led to the death of dedicated consoles. Switch is showing us a new dimension, but...
Not really. Switch, just like every other Nintendo console, is not a third party machine. It can get the games, but they will still sell far better on PS4 and Xbone. Ever since PS1 launched, that’s just how it’s been.
My only concern is that Nintendo will attempt to use multiplats again as a means to cover their release schedule while games like MP4 and Pokemon get more development, like they did with Wii U. Problem is, Nintendo devices are simply not multiplat machines, and that will put a damper on the sales until the console is able to pick up again.
I don’t see Pokemon releasing until late 2019. Assuming it’s a new gen, Nintendo will likely stick to their “new gen every 3-4 years” business model, and Sun & Moon are only just over a year old.
“A whole gen ahead”
No. Slightly higher resolutions and slightly sharper textures is not a “generational difference”. Jak & Daxter to Uncharted, or any PS3 title to Horizon, is a generation leap. Graphics involves far more than just resolutions and frame rates.
This comment is not damage control; this guy is just using typical fanboy hyperbole to try and convince gamers that if they don’t own an Xbone X that they’re somehow well behind the curve in ga...
I was at Best Buy yesterday and saw a whole stack of them behind the counter. Needless to say, I wasn’t going to pass that opportunity up, so I finally got one. Can’t wait to play it!
Hopefully they can get a stock of NES Classics at some point.
Sooo... What’s your reaction to PS5 going to be?
I’m gonna have to say no. The X might’ve had decent launch sales, but the majority of its purchasers were people buying their 3rd or 4th Xbone consoles, all while the S has seen abysmal sales throughout the rest of the year. MS talks about how playerbase is more important to them than hardware numbers, yet they’re trying so hard to convince everyone to spend $500 on a X, all while their playerbase is going nowhere.
I’ll probably finally pick Zelda If and when Nintendo releases a Complete Edition that has all the DLC. Props to it though; I figured it would be GotY from most sites.
For me, personally, Horizon: ZD is definitely my GotY 2017.
I think you missed the whole point of the story.
Unfortunately that would have the adverse effect of people doing the same thing, but only because they’re under the impression they’ll get so much more back, rather than doing it out of generosity
Very Nice gesture by MS. Kid definitely deserved the gift for what he did.
Xbox fans have been celebrating sales of Cuphead and PUBG, even though they’re both indie titles and sell far better on PC.
Also, just a FYI, exclusive is exclusive. Crash Trilogy is more exclusive to PS4 than every Xbone “exclusive” released in the last two years, and all upcoming ones, to include in-house
I think 1080p/ 60 should be established before looking into higher res. I don’t really see the point in 4K if the game can’t even hit a consistent 30.
Xbox fans are comical. They defended the base Xbone for 4 years, and now all of the sudden they don’t take anything less than the best hardware money can buy. No wonder MS is getting away with pretending the Xbone doesn’t exist; their fans are far to stupid to think anything besides what MS tells them. Oh well; doesn’t change that Xbone is still less powerful than both PS4/ Pro, and it’s outselling the X by a large margin.
