Unfortunately, for PS4 to surpass PS2, it would require either PS4 to have an extremely long lifecycle, or for PS5 launch to be PS3-levels of catastrophic. I’m fine with a long lifecycle, but it seems unlikely that it’ll be later than 2020 that we’ll see PS5, and god forbid PS5 has a bad launch.

Xbox is the definition of irony and hypocrisy. If they’re not doing it, or doing something different, it’s bad. If they do something, stop, and then someone else does it, it’s bad.

The endless mockery of Sony’s indie presentation at E3 2013, followed by Xbox literally doing the same exact thing on stage the following E3, is a prime example.

No way he’s not. He’s still the lead architect within PlayStation. He’s likely at the drawing board for it as we speak.

PS4 was launched just over 4 years ago. PS4 was revealed February 20th, 2013. 5 years since reveal.

The level of trolling MS did at the reveal of PS3, it’s more than justified. Xbox is in last place where it belongs.

I’ve heard you can’t even sneeze on XBL without getting reported and suspended/ banned. Looks like that’s true. Thank god for Sony and PSN.

Yeah. Doesn’t seem like he invested much into PSN anyways. Still crappy, but at least this didn’t happen to a more devoted user.

A lot of games have weird ones like that. I remember Crysis 2 had the “But can it run Crysis?” Trophy that was literally just for booting the game up.

Somehow, it didn’t have 100% completion...

I can only speak for Burnout Takedown and this, and yes they are both excellent, especially this. I had an insane amount of hours clocked into Paradise on PS3. With all the DLC and enhanced graphics, this is worth the $40 for sure.

March 16. Day 1 buy, no question.

This is the time that I will agree, Sony should take some blame about not offering name changing. 8 years is a huge chunk to put a lot of time and game purchases into one’s ID, especially in a gen where more and more people are buying digital. Really crappy to just be told that all that is for nothing.

Probably true, but it’s irrelevant here.

650K of those were PS4 lol

Really good numbers regardless

Name me a single game that is fundamentally different, between the two, from X’s hardware. I don’t need to see a X in action to know the benefits of higher resolution and framerates. Fact is, as an owner of a S, I’m not missing out on content or game elements. All games between the two are the same. There’s no fanboy wagon here; just honesty and calling out MS for trying to blatantly lie to consumers to make people feel like they’re somehow missing out on a lot by not buying X, if they alread...

Guaranteed I’ll get a lot more than a dozen hours out of Spider-Man, God of War, and Days Gone. Just because a game has multiplayer, that doesn’t automatically mean it has high replayability. Games like Tomb Raider 2013 and Gears 4 have MP, but they’re absolute garbage, so why would I waste my time playing them? A single game like Persona 5 easily gets more average playtime than most games with multiplayer.

Define “parity”. There’s no denying the X is severely held back by the S; they both have to share the same games, and devs can’t truly take advantage of the extra hardware without alienating 34+ million people. All games between the two are fundamentally the same, and to pretend that better resolution and framerates is making use of the hardware is just plain stupid. Maybe one day, the X will be able to stand on its own, but that day seems pretty far off, considering the sales so far between ...

Kind of the point, considering the article’s title. To deny the fact that Rare is a shell of their former selves is a blissfully ignorant opinion that can only be conjured up by younger gamers who never played their work from the 90’s and earlier. They used to be an industry defining company; the R* of the 90’s even. Ever since MS bought them, gutted them, and forced all their best employees away, all their work has been complete shovelware crap.

MS’s reputation in the gam...

Seems more likely than not, but I guess you never know. It just doesn’t come off as something that offers a lot of gameplay for replayability. The co op factor looks kind of fun, but not something I could clock more than a dozen hours into.

@Knight Yes, but for those of us that have actually played through every God of War title, a change is fairly welcome. The original titles will always be classics, but Ascension showed us that the formula was starting to show its age, I know there’s a huge difference and understand why some people are worried, but I trust Barlog and the team to deliver an excellent title that is new, but still feels like God of War.

Besides, most of the people complaining are moronic anti-...

1) You haven’t played it. Fail.

2) It’s much less TLoU, and more Bloodborne. Optional bosses, melee centric combat w/ some range attacks, semi-open world, etc.
