@flamingdragon I own a 2 TB Xbone S, and havent plugged it in since November 2016. I haven’t felt a single urge to do so since I finished Gears 4. Yes, it’s lack of exclusives has been a major problem for me. Sometimes I forget I actually own it.
Meh. Xbox is basically canibalizing it’s own user base with the X. It’s a decent product for what it’s worth, but it doesn’t really make Xbox more compatible or more relevant, when hardware that is supposedly substantially weaker is still outselling it by a huge margin, as well as having a lineup of far more compelling software that actually makes use of the hardware, and gives gamers more reason to purchase.
Disagree on hunting. You’d be surprised how many people in the continental do hunting as a sport/ survival needs, and they’re never gonna be the ones you hear about shooting up places or intentionally hurting people.
They don’t, but parents still shouldn’t be buying their kids CoD or GTA regardless.
@Kevnb Outside of some European markets for a limited time, I don’t think this game was ever even bundled. The majority of its sales were from people buying it standalone.
It’s not really different to how things are now; the Switch and PS4 clearly aren’t competing, and pretty all the comparisons are cosmetic at best. That won’t change with OS5, which will likely sell extremely well, but not hinder the Switch.
Monster Hunter pretty much guarantees that the PS4 will do better than PS3 in the long run. Japan, while an extremely strong gaming market, has mostly distanced itself from dedicated home consoles, due to the culture there. Switch is doing good there, but that’s to be expected. PS4 deserves its props for doing so well in a market that is a lot less interested in it than others.
@Neonridr Nintendo Switch will*
I don’t need to remind the absolute heartache that was the Wii U, ie a dedicated console like PS4. A portable selling better than a home console in Japan is like saying water is wet. No sh*t, Sherlock. That doesn’t change the fact that PS4 is doing extremely well in a market that has mostly moved exclusively into the mobile/ portable market.
Sure seems that way lol
I feel like innovation and creativity has kind of plateaued in gaming. That’s why it’s more about improving and building upon what’s already there, these days. I agree that there isn’t a lot of originality anymore, but graphically and mechanically, games are far better than they’ve ever been, so it’s okay imo.
They’re also still in the initial hype phase of their “super powerful” model. Getting outsold 3 to 1, when they have a hardware advantage and a game like PUBG as a timed console exclusive, is still pretty bad.
I think it’s basically a given that 2018 will be PS4’s peak year. So many exclusives that have garnered a lot of attention, plus the much stronger third party lineup. My prediction is 23 - 24 million for PS4 this year, but it could do even more.
Even the release of the worlds most powerful console can’t slow this train down.
Uncharted 4 was announced to be 8.7 million by the end of December 2016; it’s easily over 11 million by now, given the game is still charting to this date.
It’s GG’s highest selling game by a huge margin. Their second best is Killzone 2, which is maybe around 4 million.
That pretty much annihilates all the random underestimates that some people have made up. I still see some dumb haters claiming it’s only at 3.4 million lol
Congrats to GG and their amazing work. My personal GotY from 2017.
Can’t say they don’t deserve it. Great to see that there are employees within Konami that are still on the side of good.
Probably.

That’s pretty much what they mean by remaster. Crash NT was referred to as a remaster when it was originally announced.
Pro also wasn’t marketed as the end all be all console. Pro was advertised to be a much needed upgrade over base hardware. Sony didn’t blatantly pretend the base hardware doesn’t exist when marketing the Pro. Sony didn’t do a massive marketing push around a buzzword like “True 4K”, nor did they devote half an E3 presser to it. Deflecting to Pro is poor and a useless argument, and you know it.
