Well at least they didn't say Ellie from TLoU. lol
Looks okay. Is this game really that demanding on WiiU hardware that the console really can't run this at native 1080p? Wiik-U?..
It will have split screen on PS4. There's just no way, unless the developer is intentionally gimping the PS4 version to make the weaker 720p Xbone look better.
I'm 99% sure they're just referring to release platforms (Xbone, PC, tablets?, etc.). Obviously when the game releases on PS4, it'll have split screen too.
Ahahaa… No. My PS3 is worth waaaaay more than an Xbone.
So Uncharted and The Order are going to get the jump on Gears this gen. We already knew both would be far more definitive to the genre than another Gears on weak Xbone hardware, but now should also get the sales to prove it.
Forza 5 vs GT6 has proven that generation gaps are a lot less meaningful than people think. Forza 5 was pushing the envelope with XBone hardware (Turn 10 themselves admitted it), and yet GT6 was still actually comparable. Forza 5 may have looked slightly better in the end, but nowhere near enough to justify the fact that it's being compared to 7 year old hardware.
Hell, people try to claim the Wii-U is 8th gen, yet if you take it's best looking games, they still look...
Am I the only one that doesn't think Ryse looks that much better than God of War 3? I mean both are linear, but god of War 3 is actually able to run 1080p at 60 FPS, with it's average never falling below 30. Ryse can't even maintain 30 FPS, and is still running sub-1080p.
Ok, seriously?.. Are you seriously going to even try compare these 2 games? At least let some legit The Order gameplay release so that Gears can get completely demolished with at least some dignity.
All one really has to do is compare Killzone: Shadow Fall to Resistance 1, and it's pretty easy to figure that we'll see a significant bump down the road.
God of War 3 looks just as good as Ryse, and is still running 1080p/ 30 - 60 FPS.
You mean a level in video game where it's raining has heavy fog? Noooo… Say it ain't so!
I really don't think that has anything to do with hardware constraints, and even if it did, what would go missing in the environment? A puddle? A patch of grass? I sincerely doubt it would make even the slightest difference on the most powerful next gen hardware.
I still think this guy is fuckin douche.
I love how you just know for a fact that the game will have no replay value. HAve you played it already? Please tell us what it's like.
Honestly, while an inFamous MP could be interesting, it's completely unnecessary. There's plenty of ways for a single player only game to have replay value, and now there's no worry of whether or not the single player element would be affected by the inclusion of MP. Sadly, GoW: Ascension lost so much when they clearly put so much emphasis on the MP. I'm glad Sucker Punch won't make the same mistake.
Bet you it'll only do 720p at sub-30 FPS. ;)
@gtarhro Exactly. Not to mention the fact that devs actually had a year longer to work with the 360. The PS3 literally shoddy ports because of it's unique and complicated architecture, so the argument then was completely valid. Here, debs are already seeing the XBone's limits, and meanwhile the PS4 will just get better with time, especially after ND gets on the next gen train and their dev kits start moving out to third parties.
So, knowing what product is the better purchase means you somehow lust after it now? You're a little wierdo, kid.
Not really. Rayman Legends had a shitton of replay value going for it. This is literally re-skinned early 90's style platformed, just like DKCR was. Besides maybe some leaderboards to see who gets the bananas in a level among Miiverse users, what's there to really do in this game beyond beating it? There's no real universe behind it. No real story. No amazing gameplay mechanics that keep it feeling fresh. It's just a run of the mill platformer that, like every single Nintendo ...
