Music. 5mb.
Movie. 50gb.
Hmm... math.
I think DD will be popular, but many people still want hard copies. And what about people without internet access? What about waiting for the movie to DL? What about bringing a movie over to a friend's house? What about download caps that companies like Comcast are trying to initiate? What about the US's slow internet infrastructure compared to the world? What about DRM issues?
When all that is ...
LOL. I'll use the one the fanboys love to use against the PS3.
"If you think upconverted DVD is as good as true HD material on BluRay, you're just blind."
EDIT - If you think upscaled dvd looks as good, I pity you, sorry.
Well said DJ. You clearly have more patience than I.
But the PS3 HAS been outselling the 360 in the US, albeit just not by a huge margine.
And movie adopters ARE loving BluRay, its doing quite fine. I don't know why people expect it to become the defacto standard over night. Do people already forget the shift from VHS to DVD?
But yes, the price is an issue, and Sony needs to bring it down soon to keep this great holiday momentum going.
I must thank Mauro for giving me a good laugh. I can't believe people this ignorant and outright stupid still exist in gaming. Then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised all things considered...
Yeah, it sucks that people need to bash something simply because they dont support it, from politics to hobbies. Oh well. I just sit back and let the fools be fools, laughing all the way to the bank, so to speak.
Who's winning the battle? Gamers everywhere, by having 2 amazing systems on the market to cater to our needs. We win.
Who's losing? Game "journalism." They piss and moan about the fanboy flamewars, saying gamers need to unite, then they go and foster these battles with slanted, biased articles and Vs. articles.
Say no to fanboys. Say yes to awesome games like Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2.
Hypocrite.
Oh they have the money, just nothing to put it in. You see, unfortunately MS bought up all the duffles in the tri-state area for their Halo 3 review swag bags. Guess Sony is gonna have to sit this one out, or find briefcases...
I do have a problem with it, with buying reviews, and game journalism as a whole unfortunately. I just think its funny that you call this out in an intelligent manner despite your love of trolling. Will you be singing the same song when Gears 2 or Fable 2 "exclusive" reviews come in? Will you stand by ANY review scores when comparing Ps3 titles with 360 titles, or will you be a smart gamer (which I'm sure you could be, I bet you just like to piss people off) and stand by your OWN op...
Editorials are one thing, blogs are another. I've been asking for a while, how are people's opinions = NEWS for gamers? This site has such lax standards for stories, especially stories that fan ANY kind of flame war, if they could only tighten it up and make it NEWS ONLY here then it would be great. Instead its 80% opinion blogs. Meh.
It didn't suck. But no game is flawless. I think people have a hard time either communicating that point or accepting it.
There is no god, only Zuel.
I agree Colbert.
I think for every step forward in awesome innovation (Forge, Video Recording freaking rocks) they sacrificed something from the Campaign. The single player has too many flaws for it to stand as the epitome of console FPS for me. While I don't prefer the online style of Halo, there is no denying it's a lot of fun and great with friends... until CoD4 showed up. We still go back from time to time, I just wish that people would not take pointing out flaws in the ga...
I wouldn't WANT Gears to be more than 4v4 or 5v5, its gameplay is focused on smaller battles due to its cover mechanic. But damn, you're delusional if you don't think Gears 1 had any lag. Dear god, host advantage nightmares...
Trophies would be aces.
Because Halo invented the FPS genre...
God you spew nothing but bullcrap in every post you make. Sad.
Blademask, the U3 engine DOES have nice texture/normal mapping abilities. No denying that. However, my personal beef with it is that it gives EVERYTHING a plastic, shiny look due to a lack of difference in the specular maps. Also, up close the texture quality holds up, but I noticed in Gears 1 that 90% of the materials had the same texture at 0 distance.
Curb stomp?
Open Zone is that way ----->
Different engines. Different systems. Different art design. Different gameplay style. Different design focus.
I like how people focus SO MUCH on JUST texture quality? Is it important? Yes. But damn, animation, particle effects, draw distance, environment size, lighting all factor in to visuals.
Both are great games with different art styles. Let's compare them because they release around th...
Recession + Summer + Lack of high profile releases = what again? Oh right.
More BD hate FUD. Get over it. Give it time to grow.
(But prices DO need to come down on media, not just the player)
