Well said Cenobia, I agree. The opinion piece was well written, and I wish more gamers could discuss things in such ways, even with their own preferences and slight bias. I find it somewhat silly that he almost makes fun of Sony pushing LBP over Resistance 2, when LBP is coming out before R2.

If its the UNREAL 3 ENGINE, and its PORTED FROM THE 360, they are gonna have issues. So if EVERY game in the future is made on the U3 engine, THEN its gonna be a serious issue since Epic doesn't seem to be really giving a damn in this case.

Comparing someone you love and cherish to a toy, a piece of machinery, just says how out of whack your priorities are. It's. Just. A. Game.
The more that can enjoy it, the better. This is why its up to FIRST PARTY devs to differentiate between the systems, not third party devs. Third Parties have no allegiances to consoles, nor should they. Gears. MGS. DMC. NG. I feel they should all be on both, and let the first party devs do the talking for the system, like Halo and Uncharte...
PS2 sold more than Xbox so PS3 will sell more than 360.

I think its a tad bit premature to be calling out sales figures at this time, since we haven't even seen much of the game yet.
It's just the way the market is shifting... developers can make more money, and in this current market they need to.
This is good for gamers. More people get to enjoy the title, and companies get to keep making games. It's just simple business. If you want to get fanboyish, alo remember that the PS2 totally destroyed the original Xbox, and frankly, the XBox HAD NO major franchises to lose on this scale.

I have to agree with Pirate on this. Omega raises good points, but I don't see the optional BD drive catching on personally. I've long heard the argument that BD isn't important or mainstream, nor is HD movies. They are for hardcore film lovers who notice the difference, not Joe Blow casual movie watcher.
