LOL. Damn Omega, that point of view is sad.
Fable 2 is a great game because of whats in the box, not because of some random score somebody gives it.
I didn't realize titles like Mass Effect and Gears of War were on the PS3. Good to know.
And I own over 25 PS3 titles, and the rest of the 360's library I can get on the PC. Don't generalize, it just makes you look a tad silly.
I wouldn't put too much, if ANY stock in review SCORES. Read the review for the positives and negatives, and go by that. The same thing happened with MotorStorm 2, it was said to be better in every way than its predecessor, yet scored lower. Review numbers have no criteria or system for existing, they are just arbitrarily made up on the spot.
Use the review to inform youself on the pros and cons of the game, don't just go by some number. Fable 2 looks to be an excellent experie...
I'm sorry, but I feel bad for anyone that trusts a review SCORE. Review scores are arbitrary, tacked on numbers that have no actual basis behind them other than a person's flighty opinion at the time. The review itself is the most important part. Motorstorm 2 is better than 1 in every way, isn't that what is important? I'm sorry, but an "8.3 or A- or 4/5" means NOTHING to me. There is no universal scale, there is no journalistic standards for reviewing games, nor is there anything t...
Yup. I can't wait to see the new TM. Needs more pedestrians.
No worries man. I'm just sick of people thinking that review scores are anything other than opinion. They are so horrendously tacked on its sad, but people treat them as law. Why? I just don't get it.
Not to mention, this mentality that an 8 is a low score. No, a 3 is a low score. A 5 is an average score. An 8 is a pretty damn good score.
My other beef is when a sequel is pronounced as being better in every respect, then scoring lower. See whats wrong with that ...
The party is over? LBP is the highest rated exclusive of the year. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean its not a great game. I also love how you not only call the sales of LBP before it hits, but you also call the scores for Fable and Gears before you have even played them. Hmmm, odd.
And Fable/Gears being assigned ARBITRARY NUMBERS is not going to make them any more or less fun, or any more or less better in reality. Oh no, someone gave it a 10! Who cares? It doesn't c...
Sold!
Now which other one is coming to PSP? The second?
And the third is on the PS2... man I wish I could find it in good condition used.
And then I hope IV knocks it out of the park.
And MS needs games that I cannot find on the PC or PS3. asap. Tsk tsk.
Stop trolling. If you put so much stock in review scores, its no wonder MS has your wallet by the metaphorical ballz.
Again, why are people putting so much stock in SCORES? It's an arbitrary, made up number.
The review BODY says that it fixes most of R1's problems. There ya go, fans should love this.
Not to insult either author... but I thought this was NEWS for Gamers, not Blogs for Bickering. This is not news, nor was the original article. These pissing matches are getting old, real old. And this site is only fostering the BS that people complain about.
Thank you Wurider for being the epitome of what is wrong with "gamers" today. Unless you work for the companies putting out these games, sales should not matter to you. I don't care how much Halo 3 sold, it doesn't make it any more fun, or any better than Halo 2 to ME.
Ah, art and production design. The TRUE life blood of any games visual longevity.
Bubbs for you all, for being actual GAMERS on N4G.
*sigh*
THIS is what's wrong with the modern gamer. They think texture fidelity and smothering bloom lighting = nice graphics. Why does no one discuss or take into account art direction? Character design? Animation? Lighting? Atmosphere? Particle effects? Dynamics?
And bullshots? To compare games? Really? Epic are KING of the bullshot...
Nice analysis Kewl... but it's hardly putting all their eggs into one basket, considering many first party franchises that Sony themselves have built up are quite strong as well. Twisted Metal, Warhawk, God of War, Wipeout... hell, bring back Colony Wars!
If Sony was LOSING these titles to MS, I would agree. However they are not. They are going MULTIPLATFORM. Thus, I can still get them on the PS brand, same as always. How does that entice me, a PS3 owner, to also pick up a 360,...
Which can be argued as a BAD thing. It's one thing to extend the life of a game. Say, Rock Band, and adding new songs. But all too often we are getting shafted with $60 uncompleted games. Even DLC has DLC now! Mega Man 9 anyone?
Companies are ABUSING DLC, both in pricing, as well as quality and quantity. You want to add maps to CoD4 later on for $10? Fine. It's optional. But those maps were half assed.
And I'm sorry, there is no, NO NO NO, excuse for "Day 0...
Indeed. And this is not a knock on the original Xbox, but it didnt really have any major franchises to steal in the first place. The PS2 just totally dominated.
If multiplatform games for third party devs means they can keep making great games, I'm all for it. But yes, this means MS needs to do more to differentiate its system then just taking what Sony has and making it multiplatform.
Nothing wrong with intelligent debating. Instead we get spin, excuses, BS, moaning, whining, complaining, fanboys, fangirls... and while everyone is arguing something that really shouldn't matter at all to GAMERS, we have companies that are totally raping us on other issues. And THOSE are NOT being discussed. At all.
I mean, do you see what the Wii is doing to gaming? This casual shift? It's great to bring in more gamers. But now almost every dev wants to make every game more ...
Hey Xi, you're a pretty good guy, so a serious Q for you.
What did you dislike about the MGS4 ending? Just curious if you'd mind explaining either here or in a PM. Thanks!
