One thing I noticed on the first image was inconsistent shadows. Look at the shadows cast by the people fighting. Next look at the spikes sticking up from the ground and their shadows. Now look at the shadow on the player in the foreground.
Either the sun is only a few meters above the earth and the spikes are following their own laws of nature or someone has been prebaking their lighting.
Article is also chock full of spelling and grammatical errors. Painful stuff to read.
This was the pick of the comments on the Guardian site:

Yet here we have two devs in very high positions at a top studio doing what devs never, ever do - criticising the company filling their pockets.
Think about that for a while before reacting as the red mist descends next time.

Seems a rather convenient excuse. The Dutch speak English and German pretty damn well, half of Belgium speaks French, the Swiss are not too shabby at German, French and Italian - those being the 3 languages they speak there...
As for Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway... my god, these are not backwater little nowhere countries we're talking about here, they are home ...
@Septic Yes there is a reason - that being they clearly cannot physically match their forecasts for hardware production and have to prioritise.
Over 200 million people live in those 8 demoted countries - that's a whole lot of dissatisfied potential customers, many of whom will have the option to purchase a ps4 for around 3 months without any competition.

Sometimes it seems Microsoft's left hand doesn't know that the right hand is doing. Earlier in the day when directly asked about the rumour, Aaron Greenberg denied there was going to be any delay and laughed it off: "Ha, don't believe everything you read! We will share more details at Gamescom.". Then moments later ms confirmed the 8 count...

There are more Dutch speakers in Belgium than French speakers, but your point is still valid and highlights some rather shaky reasoning behind the drop to 13 launch countries.
Exactly, if you live in one of those 8 countries the rumour is indeed fact and obviously the source of it.
Even worse still is if you live somewhere like Poland or Japan, they really don't think you matter enough to give you even 2nd tier status... microsoft's third world countries.

That packaging didn't come off a production line, it's mock-up stuff for photo shoots and PR, there are companies that specialise in creating these things. take a look at the internal packaging and wraps in the video - they're not quite as they should be (why do you think Major Johnson threw them on the floor so speedily?).
You think they'd prefer to stand on the slidelines rather than take a beating? I suppose you could argue it'd be better to let the ps4 do its thing and let the hype die down then release into a vacuum of real news and build from there, but missing out on the holiday sales and having Sony gain such a lead would be the a really risky strategy for such an uptight by-the-numbers suit and tie outfit as m$.
The only way this could be true is if manufacturing has hit serious...

OT: Many of us believe in order to effectively compete in next gen there will have to be a SKU that goes head-to-head price-wise with ps4. The only way that seems possible is without Kinect 2.0.
Allowing xbox one to function with Kinect 2.0 sat in the box has planted the seed in a lot of minds - people are going to sit it out and see what happens.
