Eventually reversing unpopular decisions does not negate the very valid criticisms that people have had of MS and their handling of things like this.
It's great for devs that they've finally done this, but it still comes with more restrictions than there really needs to be, and it seems to be being done this way in order to boost a failing Windows 8 scene.

They've consistently shown to be out of touch with what developers and consumers actually want since their reveal. While it's good that they've now made this call, again, it's taken a bunch of negative coverage for them to do it.

I think it'll eventually be the same for Kinect. They're going to stick to their guns for a little while, but will eventually realise that people don't really care about Kinect as much as MS and their advertising partner...

And only a tiny minority of PC gamers will care. Everyone else will have heavier wallets and be enjoying their games at 1080p.

@givemeshelter, and a lot more expensive. Build a PC that can offer anything close to the same capability of a PS4 for the same price....I dare you to try.
You jam two Titans in a PC with a top end i7 CPU and 16 gigs of Ram, then of course it'll show you amazing results....but it's not even close to a fair comparison.
Further to that, the law of diminishing returns comes into effect at a certain point. People often spend hundreds to achieve a 5-10fps improvement in a...

Both consoles have the same CPU, but the PS4 has a beefier GPU to the tune of 50%. On a spec level, the PS4 is the more capable machine....it flat out is more powerful. That's the price of Kinect and the focus on Live TV pass through.
Xbox One games won't be ugly by any means, but the PS4 has a definite advantage in terms of grunt. It all comes down to games and features.
For me, Sony has shown a greater commitment to indie devs, exclusive first party titles and a f...

@andibandit, Kinect is terrible for games man, it just is. Even a more accurate and advanced version will still come nowhere close to replacing a joypad for traditional games. The sweeping movements needed for Kinect are not condusive to intuitive gameplay.

Besides, even though Kinect is with 100% of consoles, that doesn't mean that developers will take full advantage of it's capabilities...in fact, many will see it as a hindrence due to it's overall deficiencie...

Yes....15 minutes is a bigger number than 5, it doesn't get much more basic than that. Dedicated LP'ers should probably stick to dedicated devices to capture footage, but for more casual users, 15 minutes allows a little more flexibility.

It continuously records the last 15 minutes as you play...it keeps going. Whenever you decide to stop and look back, the 15 minutes prior to when you stopped is saved...you can then look at the footage and edit it a little before uploading.

I think the bigger obstacle to this Free to Play game is that it's not actually Free to Play on 360 - you have to have a Gold subscription to be able to play it. Yet another service stuck behind the paywall of Xbox Live when it shouldn't be (Netflix).
Wonder if that'll change on Xbox One? Sony have already said that the Free to Play games on PS4 will work fine online even if you don't pay for Playstation Plus...same with Netflix (just like with the PS3). Microsoft n...

Even then, a lot of the systems have been covered on lots of internet review shows like AVGN and lots of others, and those audiences skew pretty young.

Threats can cause panic, it's not as easy as just posting "jk" after a threat...somebody could make a legitimate threat and simply put "jk" at the end to throw people off....how is the person on the receiving end of the threat supposed to know?

Also, not everyone knows every abbreviation out there...people may not even know what "jk" stands for, they may mistake it for the person's initials.

The best way to avoid trouble ...

There genuinely are sexist reactions out there....I've seen them. "What does a woman know about gaming?" etc. The article is targeting those reactions, not ALL criticism

There are a few sexist types out there - I've seen their idiotic comments - but the majority are more concerned that the Xbox division has been split into hardware and software, and the fact that she was last involved with Windows 8, a product with it's fair share of negative coverage.
The fact that she's responsible for the improvements to that OS - return of the Start button and addressing other complaints - was not well known though. Thing is, MS is in a negative rut o...

I like the openness of Sony and it's designers, it shows a confidence in their hardware and policies that Microsoft just don't have. MS cancelling E3 round tables, being so non-committal when asked directly about the features of the Xbox One and what exactly they entailed, all the mixed messages and executives saying different things....I'm amazed at just how incompetent MS were with the Xbox One reveal.

Sony made a lot of mistakes with the PS3 - they were arroga...

PS4 can utilise cloud features too....the 360 and PS3 could pretty much do cloud now - albeit not as efficiently - all the cloud is is a bunch of servers sending data to the console.
The reason Xbox One is so expensive is that bloody Kinect monstrosity...and I really feel it's a waste of money. Motion control in that form is useless for games. Wii remotes and Move remotes are about as far as motion controls should go, at least there's something tactile there, and they aren&#...

No, it's not bias....though they do often pick stories with inflammatory titles to get hits. But have a look back a bit and you'll see critical stories and positive stories for all major consoles.
Screaming bias at the first sign of criticism of a game/console company you're currently a fan of is never a good idea....makes you look pretty silly.

GTA 5 isn't even announced for PC yet...it may take quite a while for that to come out, at least into next year.
There's still a fair bit of life in the current generation, so don't blame you for sticking with the PS3 for a while yet.

There's no room in their case thanks to the ENORMOUS fan they've put directly above the CPU/GPU. They also keep the PSU outside to reduce heat...basically, they're taking no chances on another RROD situation. Also, they're just not quite as elegant when it comes to design as Sony or even Nintendo.

4/10? So just below average? Pffft, what rubbish, this game is an absolute stinker. Riddled with bugs (sound cutting out, graphical glitches aplenty) terrible gameplay, awful physics and AI, voice acting that makes Resident Evil 1 look like The Last Of Us....and released at an insulting price point at retail rather than as a budget priced PSN/Live Arcade download.
The game is an insult to gaming and gamers everywhere.
