I played both games and didn't feel I was blown away by either. I got farther in R:FoM than gears, but neither felt "Good" in my hands. CoD4 feels excellent. It'a about the only one that has it perfect. Warhawk is fun, but very arcade. Halo has lost it's touch. Unreal? yes, Very. If Gears could support more multiplayer and the bullets actually did damage like they should - or - R2 could tighten up the controls so it's not so loose, They both could get my money.

If the 360 gamers keep bashing the Idea of UT3 on the 360 because it belongs on the PC or because it's too late and Gears 2 was just announced, maybe it will find a permanent home on the ps3 where I have welcomed it with open arms. Now, all I need is a way to make mods myself without shelling out for the PC version I will not play. (My PC wouldn't stand a chance if I installed this game)

I think MD's point was more along the lines of "Halo is no longer the cream of the crop and if a game is to be a killer app, it needs to aim for the top. This is why CoD4 is referenced. It has Halo a game only the Die hard Halo fans look to for online FPS fun. I have not played halo in, well, Since CoD4 came out. I may play it again when the new maps go for free. Point is, Halo is no longer the measuring stick.
people would stop trying to push the Wii in competition with the 360 and the PS3. It's like comparing a Toaster oven with a full feature stove. yes, it's nice for small things, quick fixes and to reheat leftovers from dinners past, but the best you can get out of it will never compare with the meals you can get out of the other 2.
This article has nothing to do with PSN. lol. When talking about how good live is, adding PSN into the conversation is inappropriate because it's not as good as live.
