That's the thing you don't understand. The 7th gen only really look 'next gen' at the time because of the whole HD thing. PS4 and 720 aren't going to look much better than 7th gen just like Wii U doesn't right now. Just like PS2 didn't look much better than PS1 when it first came out. Not every gen can have a massive leap.

The games sales are far behind the launch of Wii and Gamecube but then again so were the PS3 and 360's sales.

I think the styles for Assassin's in a Victorian England game would be quite cool but I don't think I the setting would be great for a whole game, although that's what most people thought about Colonial American and that ended up being awesome. I still think the Chinese setting would probably be the best way to go for AC4. At the end of the day I'd like any setting as long as it's not set in the future or present.
It took three or four years to find out what the PS3 could do. I reckon we'll see some fantastic games on Wii U in a few years not only in graphical terms but I'm sure some very creative people will come up with some amazing ideas for the gamepad.
The reason Xenoblade is my game of the year 2012 is simple, it's without a doubt the best game that came out last year.

I'm liking the look of the games. The areas we've seen look pretty good, the new battle animations look pretty good (I can imagine it's going to be kind of like Dragon Quest now) and the Pokemon we've seen so far look a lot better than 5th gen (I just wish we could delete B&W from the world and have X & Y as 5th instead).
The games aren't out for 9 months. If a woman can form an entire human being in that time I'm sure Gamefreak can sort out any problems with X & Y.

This is great news. Now if only GTA5 could be renamed as Valued Member of Society or if you're down with the kids, VMS and feature a white, male, christian protagonist who goes on missions spreading the word of our lord and saviour I think we could have a real shot at world peace.
Shouldn't we wait to see if these consoles are actually going to have these things before comparing them?
I can't wait for these games, they both look awesome. Lego Marvel will be my 3rd Lego game this year and a 3DS Pokemon game is what I've been waiting for for two years.

I hope the actual evolutions like similar to these they look pretty good. By the looks of things this might be a good generation.
Only first gen Pokemon that needs an evolution is Eevee. How cool would a dragon Eevee be?
Have we not established this before? Consoles have nothing, I repeat NOTHING at all to do with how powerful a console is.
First of all, winning a generation is based on worldwide sales there are no regional contests.
Secondly, the 8th gen has already begun the race to win this gen has ended even if 360 overtook Wii's sales worldwide by the end of this week Wii has still won the gen. If the Gamecube overtook the PS2's sales (somehow) the PS2 would have still won the 6th gen.
The race is now on to see who wins the 8th gen.
