I love IX. It holds a special place in my heart but so does VII. Can't it be both?
Temporary problem anyway... Sony benefits from the hardware reduction. They won't keep the 1100 model around. This is likely a case of "new, old stock."
As someone now in his early 30s, I played the first two on the PS2 and had a lot of fun.
That being said the storyline is horrendous and they should have stuck to something less existential.
Starcraft
No physical copy, no purchase.
I'm not buying into a game that I'll lose if my console falls into disrepair or NOA takes it offline.
It's not cheaper but it is a viable option. The faster read speeds are also a bonus!
I agree with the author. This wouldn't be a good move for Nintendo. I purchase retail all of the time and have little interest in digital.
Starting with a PS1 and PS2 emulator wouldn't be a bad start. It has the benefit of pacifying disc owners AND allows for new digital sales.
They've already created these in other forms so now it becomes a matter of porting/upgrading code rather than start something entirely new.
I'm a life-long Nintendo fan and own both a 3DS and Wii U however I'm also a retail hold-out.
I refuse (with few exceptions) to purchase digital so I can play my games long after the network services are offline.
Hopefully, Nintendo and other console manufacters will take notice...
This has been debunked but I clicked to comment and say:
Be weary of this rumor, a version of this same story has been coming out with every Microsoft OS release since XP.
It was confirmed over a week ago but yes, still great news.
Perhaps it's Red Dead Revengeance starring cyborg Raiden whom is saving the West from steam powered metal gears and running train heists in his downtime.
I agree, tweet @NintendoAmerica so they can gauge where the fans are at!
Cel shaded... not cell shaded.
Yes. I regularly play new and old games. I'd love to consolidate systems.
Let's not forget REtail.
This was one of the last AAA titles on the PS2 and I'm really looking forward to picking it up again. For its time, it was ahead of the curve with 480p and 16:9 support too!
Yes. VII, VIII and IX are on PSN. The OP is right, XII is the only main series only on PS2 right now.
Onimusha HD will happen, it's just a matter of time.
I'd love this but Namco and Nintendo will need an agreement. Perhaps a joint venture of an HD remaster with part IV to be funded by Nintendo.
