You were actually thinking the PS3 an Xbox360 would run and look BF3 look like the PC version of the game?

If you can install this game...do it..it will run better.
There is a reason ALL PC games are installed on the HDD or SSD.
Would even be better if you could install the entire game on the PS3 as you have a choice of what HDD you can own and its size.
Now that would have been an extra bonus for PS3 users if you could install the entire game to the PS3 HDD.
The Xbox360 install is a lot larger.
So what is your point?
DICE have done a fantastic job with BF3 on these consoles.
When you take into consideration that thes consoles are 5+ years old and lack DX11 features that the PC will have and only 512 megs of total system memory, you have to give DICE credit for making the game look this great with all those effects in that game.
There is simply no other game on consoles right now that looks like BF3 and has destruction, and lots of real time dynamic effects running altogether in on package....
Get rid of the bubble system entirely and have a maximum of 4 replies per thread for everyone and if some members continue to use poor language and or trolling. Ban them.
If you are not going to play it on the PC, then the Xbox360 is your only other option as of now...
Then just install the two disks. Problem solved.

In Canada the PS3 launched for $700+

Sony never said that. Sony executives stated they would not put in the same amount of financial resources as the PS3. They said nothing per say as to how much power over the PS4 will be over the PS3
It's not a fad...it's been around for decades...it just has to be done correctly AND be affordable for the average consumer.
As of now the cost is still too high for the average consumer.
The glasses are too much.
When those prices become affordable for the majority of gamers, 3D will take off.....
