The combo attack system definitely screams Chrono Trigger. I'm counting the days until August 29.
If they only have a Switch then yeah, probably.
Gangsta, I'm pretty sure I've agreed with most everything you've said since the 1up forums (if you're who I think you are), but co-op griefing is where I draw the line. :D
Can't blame you there. The bargains don't come too often on the eShop, that's for sure.
Loosen the tinfoil hat a bit, bud.
Ah, I totally follow. Just clearing up that their complaints are definitely missing the mark there as far as the music goes. Yeah, the hate is definitely misplaced as far as I'm concerned. I'm a fan of the series and didn't feel any whiplash going in as far as tone goes. I'm just hyped by how much more polished everything feels and that the city is finally a memorable locale and not a lifeless backdrop.
I'm sure you're in for a good time!
@MadLad: I definitely disagree about the soundtrack complaints. I'm a member of gaming's crustier demographic, and I found a lot to love during my time with the game. Hell, one of the opening moments of the game features a scenic commute through the desert set to A Tribe Called Quest's "I Left My Waller in El Segundo," and that track debuted more than 32 years ago. DMX's "Party Up" also paired quite well with smashing police cars to a fiery demise from the ...
Definitely can't argue with your sentiments on the Epic Game Store. But if it ever finds its way to Steam, I feel you'll be in for a treat. I enjoyed my time with the game immensely.
That's because it's not a review, it's a preview based on the first four hours of the game.
That said, I'm not sure what you want to know about censorship. I was able to customize the size of my character's dong if that's what you're wondering. Were there dildo bats? Not that I saw, but I wouldn't necessarily rule them out. During my conversations with the game's creative director, Brian Traficante, he didn't seem concerned with diali...
The House of the Dead 1 wasn’t on Dreamcast. You’re thinking of the sequel.
Is a guide really necessary for a feature covered in the game's basic tutorial?
The game was initially released on the PS4 in 2020, so you're all set!
Moonwalker is a classic. I still play it in my candy cabs pretty often.
Of course, they're not horror nor survival, but nobody can argue that puzzles haven't been a massive part of the genre's appeal since its earliest days. I'm right there with you, though, especially regarding the intentionally obtuse puzzles. The feeling of satisfaction that comes when the idea finally clicks in your head (usually long after you've put the controller down and are in the middle of something else), is fantastic.
During my time with Tormente...
Thanks for that. My coffee tasted so much better as it was jettisoned from my sinuses and onto my laptop screen. :D
Couldn’t agree more. As a die-hard fan of classic survival horror games, this has been one of the biggest surprises of the year for me. It’s really quite ambitious for what it is, and I really hope we see a follow-up effort in the same style.
Yep. That trailer broke my heart lol. Such betrayal!
That one’s been at the top of my list for more than 20 years now. Part of me really wanted to see Sega revisit the series using a modified version of Valkyria Chronicles’ engine & mechanics. But honestly, a standard grid-based sequel would be more than enough to keep me happy.
Ah, that makes much more sense. I’ve got about 50 MVS carts, so when I thought you were talking about getting that much original Neo hardware & software for such a steal I gotta admit I felt a part of me die!
An overhead strap would make all the difference. As it stands, the way the unit's weight is distributed between the crown of my head and the bridge of my nose makes it hard to play for more than 20 minutes at a time. Meanwhile, I could play the PSVR1 for hours without issues.
