This is a HUGE breakthrough, but as people are saying it's going to be a while til it's working on most AAA games. I'd say the real test would be MGS4, since there's a lot of moving parts in that game. It'll also be probably the most downloaded ISO when the emulator is working.
Honestly I don't think it would work too well. Only because there's some 4th wall breaking things the game does that might not work on a console.
Yes, it'll be a better VR device, and superior in a lot of ways. However the PS VR is essentially a more consumer friendly device. It'll probably be cheaper. You don't need a powerful system to run it. It'll also have 1st party support for games from Sony, so there's going to be more of an incentive to use it for games. Though if you want the best experience the HTC Vive and the Oculus will be the better choices.
