There is no doubt that is the best looking thing we've seen. Hope the final build looks like that.
I think they mean developments hell as in in development for more than six years at least. Definitely hell when you consider paying all of those people for so many years. More than likely it has been moved over to the PS4.
There is no doubt it's needed. This can push physics farther than what can be currently found in a $400 machine. I think the key is the eight gigs of embedded memory on the chip. They claim its snap on items. I think it's for storing physics models. Once the map is loaded, it would only need incremental updates like in the asteroid demo.
To put it simply........hate, hate, hate, hate. Too many Buck Nasties out there.
On subject though. I would add Halo. Especially Finish the fight. Horse ride in Jerusalem from Asassin's Creed. And, maybe my personal favorite, Arnhem Knights from Medal of Honor Frontline.
I believe he's right. People have to remember that these are APUs in these systems. They are very small compared to the chips in the 360 and PS3. And they will shrink soon. So the next generation of these chips will appear in smaller devices. AMD is set to release a chip for tablets in a few months that uses the latest CPU cores Puma. So far that cheap beats Jaguar. And the GPU is twice the power. A major update of that chip should appear in a couple of years with an even more powerful pa...
Rumor is that Kinect is cheaper to make then previously thought. Selling it with a game you consider a showcase for it pushing Kinect and adds to your profits. While $399 might be a small loss. $499 with a game you own might be a small profit. Nothing crazy or to see here. Everybody move on.
People keep saying they haven't shown anything yet. But they have. Just not on Xbox One. The demo of the asteroid belt proves the physics side. And while they haven't been forthcoming, do you think they should just blurt out everything they are doing. Why save anything for, say, an annual conference.
Look at the chip design. There are eight gigs of flash memory. The asteroid demo loaded and did updates where needed. Very small updates. Eight gigs is enough space to st...
APUs in both machines are based on off the shelf parts, but they are heavily modified. Hence the PS4 APU released after launch. And the one in Xbox One is modified even more. No one really knows what some of the parts are for yet. Their is speculation about things, but no one outside of Microsoft, save a few, really knows.
I have my own ideas about some of the design choices.
I also think that people speculating on what DX12 can do and what only applies to next generation GPUs should remember that the company that designed DX12 also designed Xbox One. So since One isn't made of off the shelf parts, they might have future proofed it.
What Naughty Dog has to say about DX12 is far less important than the fact that they keep saying things about DX12. Me thinks they protest too much.
Got some bad news for you two. People grow up and move away. This at least allows you to still see your friends. This would really be good for college students staying in touch with former classmates. Plus you get to see other schools ladies when they are over instead of just getting a description.
I'm sure they don't cause nearly as much violence as TV witches do.
Way to go Sony. Proving the are-chair devs wrong again. It seems the same hardware can boost performance as the generation moves forward. Maybe Microsoft can boost the ability of Xbox One too. Maybe. Maybe even 1080p games.
It cost Microsoft no more than it cost Sony for exclusives, and Microsoft has a lot more to spend on them. And remember they did set aside a billion strictly for games. That alone should last five years or more without a return on investment.

Chief you're way off. Kaz is doing things now that should have been done a long time ago. Stringer tried, but cultural norms got in the way. Stringer pushed for consolidation and cuts early in the PS3 lifecycle. As well as layoffs. Japanese companies just didn't do that in the past. Now Sony has no choice. They would be very successful now if they had listened to Stringer then.
@frosty
People always say something can't be done on current systems. There have been new developments in the past that have pushed internet speed to where it is and the same will continue to happen.

It will also happen with Xbox One. People will learn to do more with the design but some will not accept it.
Why would it interfere with putting out games? Microsoft set aside a billion dollars to start Originals. The same for games. They still have about 80 billion left. Considering expensive TV shows carry budgets of under 1 million a billion gives them a lot of money left to play with. Though I'm sure a good deal was spent establishing the studio, stealing major industry players and hiring people like Spielberg was expensive, I'm sure there is at least 900 million left. So they should be ...
cgoodno I see what you did there. The old reverse logic if Microsoft can't walk and chew bubblegum, neither can Sony. But PS fans are too smart for that.
osprey19,
Welcome to N4G.
Balls this is N4G. No matter what Microsoft does, they are wrong. That is what they need to understand. Fanboys live in a bubble. If Microsoft had shown Xbox TV, they would have been criticized. Remember the rumors of the discless 360?
