Cueil that power reduction was something I looked at too. If it did allow them to boost the CPU and GPU cock speeds it would be a big help. And if it does it shouldn't be an issue for the parts because they were turned down to begin with. Maybe they could hit the 2 ghz that was rumored in the past.
I don't cheer for any company over another. My comments in the past have always been against the hypocrisy of so many. It's odd that its, more often than not, Sony fans whining about losing exclusivity. The only whining I've heard from Xbox owners was about Bungie. Which, like with Sony fans, a joke to me. I don't blame Bungie for buying out. They deserved millions, hundreds of millions more for their work. Announcing during the Sony show was a shot at Microsoft. I don't b...
Gamers were the main supporters. It just happened to be on PlayStation. It could just as easily been another console. Yeah, and CD cut a deal for PS+. This time they cut a deal with Microsoft. So get over it and stop whining. It is business and you are not entitled to anything. Companies make decisions based on what's in their best interest. So if you love games instead of systems you buy the one with the games you love. And you buy more than one system if it's worth it to you. So sto...
It seems to be a good move on the surface given the extreme amount of whining and crying going on. But the reality is the whiners were never going to buy an Xbox. And though the last one sold well, I'm not sure TR is a system seller. But the whining says a lot about some people. Angry when one company gets exclusives. Cheering when the other gets them. Real gamers wouldn't care how many systems got a title. And a developer that gives exclusivity this generation is getting paid on eith...
I think we are hearing voices mostly from people that don't understand business. Gaming or any other kind. This idea that casuals won't buy something is off. The reality is they will in smaller numbers. But those smaller numbers are relative to the install base of the iPhone. And that is ginormous compared to Vita. And always will be. Even if Sony gave away a Vita with every PS4 it couldn't match the number of iPhones sold each year. So ten percent of a huge install base beat 30% ...
They may be covering the cost of the unit. But that doesn't mean they have touched the other cost associated with launching a new machine. Don't get me wrong, this isn't like the PS3. But AMD didn't go from consistent loses to profits because Sony and Microsoft got amazing deals. But because of APUs Sony is likely to be making a profit on every console sold which in turn means they will pay off that debt very soon. Dealing with the debt from the rest of the company is the prob...
Okay. Cool, I was just speculating on how it might work. I'm still not writing it off since new methods and techniques are developed all the time. A couple of weeks ago someone came up with a way to get GB speeds on phone line. So I can't dismiss it until I see they can't.
As far as resolution and graphics go, I believe anything that takes away from the demands on the APU would leave more power to push graphics and resolution. The idea that that chip just isn'...
Rainslacker I really don't think Microsoft would just out and out lie about the cloud. I believe they have some things that may not be ready for prime-time, but not just making things up. You seem to have some technical knowledge. I have a theory about Xbox One. There is eight gigs of flash on their chip. Microsoft claims it's for running apps in the snap attachment. I don't believe that completely. Remember reports about dual GPUs writing to the same scene? What if the cloud calc...
Actually the only reason you could disagree is if you believe he shouldn't own all three. Which is fanboy logic. I don't own all three but agree that he should enjoy what makes him happy.
Random fanboys do need to go away. It's one thing to love one thing over another. But fanboys live in denial of reality. Then they gang up on normal people and influence sheep. Expansion of their delusions creates an atmosphere that limits growth in gaming. Even though gaming generates more revenue then music or movies, no one looks down on watchers or listeners. No one discourages a childs desire to be a musician or actor or dancer. But if that same child told their parents they wanted t...
The problem is the lack of integrity in commenting. If people were consistent and honest there could be a civil debate. But when so many people in society, not just gaming, choose sides over the truth or even reality it's hard to have a good conversation. I believe N4G needs to go back to a separate section for normal conversation and one for fanboys to drive hits. The moderators would have a lot fewer comments to monitor, the nonsense won't drive away more educated readers and fanboy...
Hopefully Brute Force.
I think there is a small group of morons that write these similar articles and then come on the forums like news for gamers and use multiple accounts to pump up their own and each others bs articles. They know the general public is easily manipulated and they prey on them.
Thanks for keeping it classy guys.
They may say they are going to stop requiring down payments but they have made a lot of money from it for years.
@rainslacker,
I don't believe it will make Xbox One a super machine, but I do believe it was designed with DX12 in mind. To run it as efficiently as possible. During the Build talk they mentioned having paths to send information. Some of the diagrams I've seen of the APU in One show multiple paths for the code to move.
It looks like it's not about sending massive chunks, but just what's needed without any delays. I admit I'm not in the fi...
Do you mean a PC running Mantle?
So now people believe what Microsoft says? The problem is most have said that it won't make much of a difference. Naughty Dog said it wouldn't make 1080p more likely. But this developer says the low overhead makes 1080p way. And he says DX11 has a large overhead. But we all know D12 will be much faster. So if this developer is on point about low overhead, then the same properties have to exist for Xbox One. Only a idiot believes the GPU is just incapable of doing it.

True enough. But that doesn't mean either group are not frauds. That's why fanboys suck.
This shouldn't be an issue for PS4 since I seem to remember most Sony fans think Bungie is an average developer.
@ Multi
If Sony did in fact buy exclusivity back on PlayStation one then Sony fans really need to stfu. This is business and if you can do something you should expect it to happen to you too. Not including you with the whiners but this is really a sad commentary on what children many gamers are. Sony fans don't even support Sony exclusives. Sony admits that. So when people talk about Microsoft spending money more wisely, only having four out of ten exclusives make money ...
