Overall it sounds like a good deal. If you don't want to wait then pay. As long as it isn't an insane amount it's a good deal. Even ten dollars for a game you paid nothing for is completely reasonable. We just had a bunch of people saying $60 wasn't high for five hours of gameplay. Then $10 seems more than reasonable for a game that should provide twenty hours of single player and countless more multi player.
PlayStation fans keep going on about not wanting parity with Xbox One, but given DX12 being available to developers it seems the Xbox fans should be complaining about the PS4 holding back Xbox One. Whether DX12 brings a higher resolution is irrelevant, it surely opens up the ability to do a lot more on screen than the current APIs. So the Xbox One version should have a ton more going on at a given time than PS4 can keep up with.
In a game like Payday, that means a lot more c...
The reality is that this was another missed opportunity for developers. There is no excuse for not having more to offer than cut-scenes and QTEs. Once the new APIs hit those two things as main gaming mechanics should die. There will always be cut-scenes and QTEs are OK sometimes. But it's time to push ahead with new things. Ubisoft did the world are huge favor with pakour in AC. It's time for someone else to step up and bring something else. The amount of things that can take place on...
Nobody is doing shareplay. They'd like to keep all of their stuff. 😃
More Windows is coming to Xbox than I think most realize. If you listen to Phil Spencer's Windows 10 segment he mentions Excel documents on Xbox. Which should mean mouse and keyboard support. Xbox will still be a set configuration to shoot at which still makes it easier than making sure your game works on a thousand PC configurations. Which makes consoles the continued cheap to program for device.
While it's good to trust your instincts, never trust the trailer. Video game and movie rules 101. An editor can make just about anything look amazing. Trust the demo.
So buy one NAS if you have an Xbox One and add hard drives if needed. Or add as big a drive as you can afford on a PS4. I'm still not sure it's that big of a deal. Many people still trade in a lot of their old games. This is an issue for a relatively small number of people.
I believe it could just be an excuse. But it is possible that Microsoft is limiting who they allow to work as developers until they get Windows 10 and DX12 fully implemented. I don't think they want some small studio leaking information about what they have in store for the update. Plus I would bet they prefer having more experienced developers working out the kinks.
Another thing I find interesting is since every console could be a dev kit, does that mean they will have...
This controversy makes me think back to another article from a few days ago. The one about Peter Molyneux. People are complaining about low scores for this game. The reality is the game gave people the only thing they consistently ask for, graphics. I personally won't buy a game consisting of QTEs as a major mechanic. Or a ridiculous amount of cut scenes.
Most gamers talk graphics whether its about a game or a console. Any new technology is only considered by what it will...
AMD isn't doing anything new on GPUs this year which I don't believe was the case based on their roadmaps from a few years ago. That leads me to believe they have made architectural design changes based on what they have learned from Mantle and DX12. Given their lack of funding they may have decided to not go with incremental improvements to concentrate on major upgrades next year.
If that is the case though, where does it leave consoles. The new APIs will already wi...
High risk/ high reward? EA and Activision. Are you kidding? Madden 27 and Call of Duty 31 are high risk? EA is changing, but Activision isn't really doing anything new. In general those two companies are purely about profit.
People complain about Molyneux talking about ideas before hand too often. Unfortunately one of the habits of successful people is talking about things in order to provide the drive to actually do them. There are best selling books written that tell you to do exactly that if you want to be successful.
His problem is the average man and their average everything else. The ability to conceive a vision unlike anything out there right now is what drives innovation. Not doing the s...
I thought the initial trailer was more of a tech demo and the reason for the long development cycle was that there was no game to make. It wasn't until the response that it became a game and everything had to be developed from scratch. I'm sure the first couple of years was all "Now what is the relationship between the boy and this bird - dog thing". "Okay, lets start with Jim, okay shoot". "Uhh, I got nothin".
If you're still holdin...
All of this resolution talk is kind of old. The real potential issue is whether or not the Division will be a DX12 game. There were issues on PS4 with Unity when there were a lot of NPCs on the screen. If this is a DX12 game, the increase in CPU will allow for much better gameplay on the Xbox. So if Microsoft is in fact pushing Ubisoft, I bet it's about pushing that CPU for AI and more happening on screen. Because despite 900p the Xbox version should show a lot more than the PS4 version i...
Chickey can't read. Because my comment was saying that while many go on about console A or B can and can't do this or that, smart people will find a way to get more with less. Just like AMD APUs will show more in the mainstream as more programs are designed to work in parallel. It's like when guys like Carmack say there is so much more room to grow in older equipment when you develop new methods.
Hey, can someone let soulmikey know that Microsoft is about to do a major update to Windows 10 on the Xbox One so the updates might be background stuff in preparation. Just FHI.
Which kinda makes those can't do this or that on this equipment arguments moot. Elegant design always finds a way. Though small minds will always doubt.
Yes, everyone gets death threats. Who hasn't. ?
The problem is the reasons some people get them. I personally don't care if there aren't enough female characters. I'm black and their aren't many blacks. But what someone else does or doesn't do doesn't mean a thing to me. That said, they have a right to speak about whatever they want. Fools that threaten to kill someone for talking though are the scum of the earth. Men who believe some magic god ano...
Orange, GPUs have been doing 1080p on PC for years. The GPU in One is a much newer part than the ones hitting it 7 or 8 years ago. Plus GPUs are not %100 efficient. They are also much faster than CPUs. DX12 will allow seven cores to send assignments instead of one making the GPU work far more than normal. That's the reason for the increased power consumption. So if we know that parts several generations before these were reaching 1080 with lesser CPUs then common sense says a far more eff...
Yes, this is pretty sad. But what is far more sad is that there are guys that will unfortunately experience the same thing. At least a woman might want to see a penis.
