They'll keep releasing them annually because people are willing to pay for this crap. People should stop so that they will lose the exclusive rights and 2k can bring innovation back to America's pastime(which is not baseball if anyone was thinking it). Same stiff a-- players.
The problem with men could be porn and video games. But more likely the problem is stupid psychologist.
The Messiah knows what he speaketh on. Sorta. The Cell was a split from the architectures others were doing and ideas were stolen from it and used elsewhere. But it never truly lived up to the expectations. Remember it was supposed to be a single chip solution. Once manufactured it couldn't handle the graphics side of its responsibilities completely. Hence the RSX.
The 360 also introduced new things. Unified shader architecture. The first 3 core general purpose CPU. The f...
Rainslacker, really?
Sony released one AAA and a video. I get sick of hearing people talking about Microsoft rehashing games by people playing LBP 3, or GT7 or Killzone Infinity. Microsoft doesn't do anything any different from what everyone else is doing from the franchise standpoint. These are corporations and business 101 says plainly to give the people what they want.
That aside Phil Spencer has said several times in several ways that exclusives are ...
To me this points to a discless set top box. Microsoft recently dropped Media Center and DVR recording is rumored for Xbox One. Because of the ability to record they could be making 1TB the new standard. But I think a set top box is a possibility. If the $599 price translation is correct that is a little high even with the usual foreign markup. Even $450 would be high for just a HD. It would have to involve some kind of quality of service upgrades. Or a built in Kinect. They did shrink the ch...
I believe it is the trilogy. Here are my reasons.
It's about laying the groundwork.
Gears 4 or whatever ever it will be called needs a lead in to get people excited. Porting the trilogy over to DX12 should only take a couple of weeks for two engineers. If a Chinese developer new to DX12 can do it in six weeks the guys from Black Tusk should be able to do it in a lot less. In fact, make it one straight play through with Judgment meshed in for one continuous storyli...
Transistor, I started writing a response about how you're kidding yourself. But I thought about it awhile and came up with a list of potential surprise announcements.
Relaunch SOCOM and Resistance. PS4 GT. The Last Guardian. The Getaway. They would need all five of them. And that would mean Uncharted and new IP for 2016. But is there a chance this will really happen? Probably not.
The Getaway is probably dead. So is Resistance. And SOCOM, plus that would ...
I'm not sure why anyone needs to wait for E3. This is a done deal. Microsoft already has three AAA titles set. And they may add a couple more for the rest of the year. Does anyone really believe Sony or Nintendo have four or five AAA titles to surprise us with this year. Sony shot their load already. And it's not like Microsoft can't announce additional things. I doubt they would add more than Gears to the game lineup. But DX12 is finished now, Microsoft did announce that it is on...
People agreeing with this moron need to check his resume. He may be gaming's greatest staller of innovation. He is the dismissed former EA CEO trying to extend the 15 minutes he received from his outlandish statements from the other day.
Nothing to see here.
Was expecting the typical Sony fan boy delusion bubble. Watched the video. No doubt its Driveclub. The way the water on the window drops from gravity when the breaks are hit hard is pure realism.
Hey Poolio. You forgot to add /s. Didn't you?
Sony reports may have started showing losses around ten years ago, true. But almost all of the reports between then and now have also shown nothing but net losses. Sony has stabilized for the most part but dude, seriously. They have JUST started stabilizing.
Nintendo had a couple of bad years. But they just need to launch a new console with basically off the shelf part and they are on top. Microsoft and Sony ...
Volkama bleeding edge was a constantly moving target. Ten years from now phones will push real-time CGI level graphics. We are crossing the uncanny valley now. Then what? VR,AR. Okay die shrinks will be down to 10nm in a few years. That brings more transistors in a smaller power envelope. We will probably be seeing VISC based chips in a couple of years. Supposedly even less power but with 2-3.5x the power of today's architectures. Maybe sooner since they are supposed to have a working pro...
Avenger you are %100 correct. The PS3 proved console gamers have a limit on what they are willing to spend on a machine. People are flakey. They will pay $600 for a phone whose core function is making calls. A function available in a $20 device that does it just as well. The only thing that really pushes that $600 phone is games. Everything can be done with a midrange device. They won't pay $600 for a console that actually does a far better job with games. Weird.
At the s...
DX12 should bring the cost of bleeding edge graphics down considerably. DX12 allows the CPU to push the GPU fully. It also sees GPU assets instead of the number of cards in the rig. Instead of spending $1000 for a titan, you could spend half that on two cards that are seen as one and fully utilized. I also expect the recommended specs to lower with DX12. A more efficient GPU should mean less GPU was needed in the first place.
What I'd love to see start happening is some ...
I'm not sure we will ever move gaming exclusively to the cloud. But people that don't believe the cloud will play a major role in gaming, on the compute side, also probably believe the PS4 is really just a PS1 in a new outfit.
Technology advances and new ways of doing more with less are developed. Anyone that reads technology articles and has a little recall can remember time after time we have been told something wasn't possible with something. OMG, somebody just...
His comments were marked as trolling because they were. A version of a game not releasing on a console that you already produced all of the assets for means you were paid not to do it. It has nothing to do with power of any system. If that were the case there would have only been a PC version. And sense it's said there is nothing to play on Xbox One, this was an opportunity to exploit that space.
An alternative could be Microsoft paid for a Games for Gold DX12 release a l...
Wanting to see something more done with a tech demo is a dangerous thing. That happens over and over and usually ends up blowing up. I think the Last Guardian is an example of this. I don't believe it was ever meant to be a game. But people went wild and game companies can be stupid so here we are years later waiting for bits of information. It's a great demo. Let's leave it at that and let it grow without a hype train forcing anyone's hand.
Raptor let me rephrase that. Not advertising, but services. You frequent a business. As you pass their store items on a wish list appear as a targeted sales item. Not just randomly tossed up BS. Things you are waiting for to go down in price. Retailers do unadvertised sales all of the time for excessive inventory. It's easier to get rid of it if you let the people you know want it know it's cheaper and they just happened to be in front of your store.

Sigma look at everything coming out of Microsoft lately. It is completely about everything fitting together. Windows is the platform and everything fits within it. And that includes Xbox. Xbox runs Windows and Live runs through Azure. Which is also Bing. Which is also on Xbox. Bing is search and advertising. Again, Xbox and also Hololens. And Azure and Windows. All running Office. All of it applies to Nokia as well. Name where it isn't all connected. It's broken down into divisions to...
Donthate has it exactly right. It is well within Microsoft's right to sue them. That could lead to a judgment of tens of thousands in damages to a million plus. If the record industry can get six figures per song a court will definitely send a message to someone violating a business model standard needed to ensure investment in innovation. Gears may not be innovation. But the need to guard trade secrets is a part of the foundation of any large company. Temporarily losing your console is p...
