Abizzel your argument makes no sense. They tested Scorpio against a gtx 1070 and Scorpio performed slightly better. That card is currently $400 by itself. It won't drop under $300 by Christmas so you've already spent half your $600. The fact you admit the Scorpio is better than a PC costing $100 more is telling. And you're right on the bluray player. It is a waste. So really the Scorpio could have been launched at $450 or added Zen or a 8 teraflop GPU.
Scorpio i...
On a serious note, Microsoft's exclusives problem is actually several separate issues. One is sheep. There are way too many in this world. Two, Sony fanboys, they have way too much influence over the sheep. Three, the Sony fanboys have too much influence over Microsoft.
If I were Microsoft I'd ignore them completely. Hey, Microsoft. They're never going to love you. They're douchy and disaffected. Microsoft fans will ignore a good game if that game gets pann...
Mkis007 there is a difference between the two current lead consoles and their base models. One & 4 were a new generation. The Pro and X are refinements on those. Sony added a few tweaks and added about 150% more GPU with new architecture and a CPU clock bump. Microsoft added around 500% more GPU with a new architecture plus some add-ons' from an unreleased architecture. Then they completely re-engineered the CPU. Notice they aren't even listed as Jaguar anymore. Someone on Beyond ...
When other developers sign clauses to gimp one version I'll just skip their games. I'm not interested in companies with an inability to win on the merits. With Bungie I know it's a little different. It is personal I believe and I don't think they are completely wrong for having some issues with Microsoft. But I will say they owe Phil a chance. What happened to them before he was in charge most likely would never have happened had he been.
Cbuc the thing is the developers chose to go that route with Scorpio. With 30-40% more power they didn't have to. With the ability to use the 4k PC code easily, they didn't have to. With so much more RAM available they didn't have to.
Given that they did while smaller studios are claiming they had their games up and running within hours leads me to believe those marketing deals were payoffs. Said but Microsoft should have seen that coming. I said years ago when...
Yet that sounds like the developers made a choice, hmm.
Your name really is Dudebro.
Completely wrong. Check around n4g there are several articles that list a pretty large selection of games that will receive a 4k patch at X launch. Halo 5, Fears, Forza Horizon. It's over thirty games with more coming. People just got dev kits as mentioned.
Pro uses tricks and upconversion. X might do that on some but also won't on many. I have yet to read ant article from anyone with the least bit of technical knowledge say the Pro is on the same level. There is a ...
Confusing if you have issues with basic comprehension. They have been clear from day one. It's up to the developers. Go full 4k if possible, 4k with other sacrifices like 30fps. Go 1080/60 and upscale to 4k and increase the detail. Developer choice is easy to understand if you want to hear.
Microsoft has a ginormous cloud service called Azure and is better qualified to make it all work than Sony or Nintendo. Nothing wrong with wanting it to work properly. When they say Live they really mean Azure. Live is now a very small portion of Azure. It probably doesn't amount to 10% of Azure anymore.
Though Sony really is making excuses when you think about it. I forgot Azure allows you to run Azure on a local server farm so Sony could do their part at Sony since i...
Twinfinite is in full naziesque propaganda mode. Hope they get a cookie from Sony for their efforts.
Good thinking Fit. Go out and spend more than twice the money for that experience. And make sure to spend another $400 on a 4k bluray player.
Hey, Zombie. Getting milked? Sorry. Shadow of the Colossus?
Nix, you're right. Look at what they did with Hololens. They waited and bought companies and designed chips and have virtually created the forward momentum on AR. All by sitting on the sidelines. Imagine what they could do if they just tried.
They have tons of videos under Microsoft Research on YouTube where you can see all types of stuff they are spending 10-12 billion a year waiting on.
Funny you would bring up Android. Android device manufacturers...
That's weird to hear you say that. I'm pretty sure those headsets made to Microsoft specifications include headsets made for both mixed and virtual reality. Not sure where the idea comes from that Microsoft doesn't support one or the other.
Some of the same people complaining about the $500 price will also tell you they have a gaming rig they paid over a thousand dollars for that will only be as good as Scorpio. Since Scorpio also includes an OS and 4k bluray player it is the best bang for the buck in gaming right now. And that will remain the case for several years.
And Scorpio is more than a mid-generation upgrade. It does what next generation consoles usually do. It performs at a higher level than the aver...
Bungie was forced to work on Halo well past their desire to keep making Halo. Even after they separated from Microsoft they still had to continue making Halo. Microsoft retained minority ownership.
Bungie was a huge part of what established Xbox. Microsoft made hundreds of millions from Halo. They should have given them more freedom while at Microsoft. Expanded the team so that they could work on more than one title at a time.
I also read Bungie had to p...
I'm not sure Sony would need to pay Bungie to stick it to Microsoft. I would bet Bungie feels Microsoft stuck it to them so they are going to get revenge where they can.
There was nothing special about either conference. People saying there was don't believe in climate change either.
Rude you go all out on your cluelessness, huh. If you read anything Digital Foundry did on the design of the console or any of the tech sites take on the information you'd know X actually outperforms a PC with similar specs. Microsoft made changes to the hardware using a system at Stanford and tested every API and engine to find all of the potential bottlenecks in the original equipment. They made the system around the software. X is extremely efficient. So maybe you need to learn to driv...
Testing is how new techniques are developed. Otherwise all games would be strictly brute force graphics and consoles wouldn't be 4k at all unless they cost $800.
