@Shnazzyone:

You can stop pretending to be smart now.

There isn't a single CPU in existance that has more than 32MB of on die cache. The second bank of 256MB in the PS3 is full XDR Ram memory, you can google XDR if you don't know about it.

As i already stated, although the XDR is technically considered as system memory (For the OS) only 43MB of it is actually reserved, the other 213MB as well as the full 256MB of DDR2 is freely access...

The PS3 has 512MB of ram also, it is just split into 2 256 chips instead of a single 512.

256MB DDR2 700Mhz
256MB XDR 3.2Ghz

The XDR is technically system memory, but most of it is still accessible by Cell for use in games.

Only 43MB of the XDR is actually reserved for the OS.

The 360 uses a single chip of 512MB DDR2 700Mhz and reserves 32MB for its OS.

That is just because Nintendo has gained a cult following, same as Apple, same as CoD and various others. They blindly buy anything with the name tag on it, assuming that just because it comes from Nintendo or other said company that it has to be the best.

As for the PS3 being in third place, that depends on your point of view.

1: 1 year later to launch (360 already had 10m sold by the time the PS3 launched)

2: $200 higher initial cost

There is a side by side comparison with the WiiU and 360 versions of Black Ops 2.

The WiiU version was proven to be graphically identical to the 360 version but with about 30% LOWER framerates.

The 360 version averages 60fps

@kalkano:

Yeah i noticed a few repeats in there also for games that were delayed but it was only a few, out of the whole there were still far more PC exclusives over the past 2 years than for 360 or PS3.

As for the list you just linked to.

PS3 exclusives since launch: 109
360 exclusives since launch: 166
PC exclusives since 2009: 147

I couldn't find any lists for PC exclusives prior to 2009 so no clue how ...

KB+M is vastly superior to controllers but to each their own i guess.

As for the people that do prefer controllers, Just DL a free keymapping program like joytokey. It allows you to individually map controller buttons and analogs to KB keys and mouse movements, it even allows sensitvity and deadzone adjustments on both of the analogs individually. Making all games fully compatible whether they natively support it or not.

As for understanding a PC's guts ...

"Same with RAM, I would take 1 GB of DDR 3 at 1600mhz over 2GB of RAM with DDR 3 at 1333mhz."

Bad idea. If a games textures or LOD have 2GB+ of RAM data then your 1GB is going to be choking like a donkey even if its 2133. Also you are ignoring the fact that higher clocks can actually be slower anyways, there are multiple factors to determining RAM's overall speed. (latency, configuration etc).

In most cases the amount...

Don't worry lol i knew you were joking.

You would need to be either blind as a bat or immensely stupid to actually believe that so it was quite obvious.

Also none of the disagree's on either of your comments were from me.

If you were to try running this level of detail on the PS3 you wouldn't even be able to measure it in FPS anymore. It would be SPF.

I think you need to learn how Ebay works.

Those are bids not buyouts.

@Neonridr:

That would depend on your point of view.

Alot of people don't realize that DVD and Blu-ray do not operate at the same bit rate for a given x speed.

The 12x DVD drive in the 360 alternates between 6.5MB/s & 12MB/s

The 2x Blu-ray drive in the PS3 runs at a constant 9MB/s

Every 1x increase in a DVD drive means a maximum increase of 1MB/s but it also dips to nearly half that at random points. ...

The reason most people are still upgrading their PC's to play WoW is because they keep failing to realize that WoW is a CPU intensive game and they keep upgrading their GPU instead. Not only does it require a massively more powerful GPU to compensate for a weak CPU in a CPU intensive game but it also creates a hardware bottleneck where the CPU becomes unable to pass the information from the higher speed GPU to the mobo and they end up loosing any potential benefit of the better GPU anyway...

Just to add to my last reply.

The reason i used Newegg was because its one of the cheapest online retail outlets for PC parts and would be closest to what Sony would be paying.

These are all also the cheapest versions of the parts i could find on the site.

i5-2600 = $317
GTX 560ti = $207

Highly unlikely.

8gb DDR3@1600mhz = $90
i5-2600 = $317
GTX 560ti = $207
Thats $614 there, then you have to factor in the HDD, Disk drive, main board, enclosure, etc.

(Prices from newegg)

Even with manufacturer wholesale costs on the parts you would still be looking at probably over $800 after profit margins.

The AMD A10 APU that is rumored for it is a fraction the power of either of those.
