And isn't just 10 shades of grey in a corridor simulator.

Killzone 3 looks incredible for what it is, but it doesn't look half as good as Crysis 3 on PC.

Anyone who thinks Killzone 3 looks better than this needs to see an optometrist immediately.

Oh yeah i forgot about that one, regardless it doesn't count as far as i'm concerned.

I meant a proper console remake not some dumbed down childish looking emo handheld cartoon crap.

I wonder if these retards... err excuse me "Experts" realise that people have been killing people since long before TVs even existed, let alone video games.

This is simply another example of people looking for a scape goat, trying to find something other than people to blame for everything bad that happens.

Watch next they will end up finding an atari in the suspects parents friends brothers crawl space and will call it undeniable proof.

153m and that was over 11 years.

March 4th 2000 - March 31 2011.

Edit:

The 360 btw has only sold around 73m so far and everyone considers it a massive success, despite the fact that it took it a full extra year over the PS3 to get that number.

Its typical hypocritical fanboy BS.

- The PS3 launched a full year after the 360 (360 already had nearly 10m sales at the release of the PS3)
- Sold at a price ...

Up until the PS1, console games were about on par with PC.

They were never superior and by the time the PS2 released PC's were already far ahead.

That is from 1999, 1 year before the PS2 released
It is playing 60fps at 1440x900.

"PS4 = 4GB = double RAM for Devs = 2GB of faster RAM (GDDR5)"

GDDR5 stands for Graphics double data rate v5, It is VRam not DIM Ram.

@Autodidactdystopia:

"ps3 came out and had 512 which was 16 times the amount previous"

Yes but you have to remember that PC's at that time had already been capable of 4Gb of Ram for quite a while, and some games were already using that much, especially once you got into heavy modding. and it was no more than 6 months after the PS3's release that high end motherboards started to support 8Gb.

No game right now currently uses m...

It was simply an example of current Ram costs.

Also you do realise that the G in GDDR stand for Graphics right?

GDDR5 is Graphics double data rate v5, it is VRam not DIM Ram. Current Ram is DDR3 which is exactly what Sony and MS will be using. All console memory is basically the same as off the shelf PC Ram, they simply build the memory chips and a single controller board directly into the motherboard to save space vs DIM slots.

I guess it is...

@landog:

Your information is wrong on so many levels.

1: The GPU is not always the most important aspect, it depends on the game.

Alot of games these days are CPU intensive and won't gain much of a performance boost from a more powerful GPU.

This is the reason why so many people still complain about WoW running like shit despite having $300+ GPU's in their systems. My system only has a single stock clock GTX 470 and m...

Optimization has to do with mostly the CPU, not the Ram.
If there is 1Gb of information then there is 1Gb of information, you are not going to be fitting it into 512Mb of Ram.

It is like saying you can fit a basketball into a milk jug just by polishing it enough, not going to happen.

There is no way NG console games will have anywhere near 32Gb of textures though so it makes no difference either way. 6-8Gb is more than enough.

4-6Gb f...

I think Crytek is based out of Germany so Ram might have a large premium on it there, not sure.

It is certainly not expensive in NA though.

I payed $220 for 8GB of 1333Mhz Ripjaws a little over 2 years ago, that same pack of Ram now is around $60.

Newegg Canada currently has a 32GB pack of 1600mhz G-skill Tridents for $230

While the WiiU's CPU is slower than either the 360 or PS3's, referencing the clock speeds is not the way to show it.

The 10yo Pentium 4EE ran at 3.73Ghz
The top of the line $1000+ Intel i7-3970X runs at 3.5Ghz

I doubt anyone here thinks the old Pentium is faster.

Clock speeds are just one small aspect of determining a CPU (OR GPU's) total power.

@dazzrazz:

2x Blu ray = 9MB/s
Every 1x increase is a constant 4.5MB/s

Every 1x increase on DVD is 1MB/s max but alternates to nearly half at times.

The reason it needs to install data is because it is uncompressed to make use of the extra storage space on the disk.

More data to read = longer read time = installs to compensate.
