@Skarlett:

Statistically the average console gamer has aprox 55 games for their platform of choice. PC games are on average $10 cheaper than the same game on consoles, Thats a saving of $550 that can be put towards the PC hardware, and it doesn't even include Steam sales which can see games as much as $30 cheaper on the PC.

Also the days of needing to upgrade hardware every year is long gone, With most of the major games these days developed for consoles ...

Todd Howard = Peter Molyneux 2.0

So much for DLC feeling like expansions, Dragonborn was the only one that felt like an expansion, the others were all the little stuff that was suppose to come in between.

@Sucitta:

Everyone would have the option to use KB+M though, and given that you can buy a basic KB+M for around $10-15, i don't see it really being all that different from a handicap setting in a fighting game. People choose to continue using a controller they are choosing to handicap themselfs, nobody is forcing them. Perfectly fair.

@HiddenMission:

So you prefer to play interactive movies that involve more sitting and staring at scripted cinematics? $60 for an 8 hour campain comprised of 2 hours worth of cutscenes is your idea of a good game?

hmm, to each their own i guess. I'll stick with actual games thanks.

90% of console players are 12-14yo kids who don't even know the meaning of the word gamer, they think spending 20+ hours a day on COD multiplayer makes the...

They don't need to stage an advert like that, the game has been around since 2003 and is extremely successful.

Alot of people use the game as an investment just like in real life, It was probably a company that made this purchase.

In 2005 a guy bought an astroid in the game for $100k. He then built a club on it and made back more than $2m in the first year alone by selling memberships.

Hear the news? FF XIII-6 is in development.

Supposedly they are also remaking XIII, XIII-2 and XIII-3 for the PS4.

XIII-4 & XIII-5 are being made at the same time as XIII-6 but will be for the PS1 because a psychic named baba told them it was a good idea.

FF VII, VIII & IX are also being remade finally. They will be using the paradigm system and lightning will be a hidden character in the game, Towns are also being removed and you wil...

Not really remakes so much as port & polish but regardless i'd personally rather see IX & XII.

XII they will probably do eventually, IX i'm not getting my hopes up.

Squenix is so bad these days they would probably find a way to botch even a simple HD remaster of IX.

Show me a TV with a 49" screen or a console that does TRUE native 1920x1080@60fps.

A larger screen isn't always better anyway. There are many 30" monitors and you can even hook up PCs to any size TV yet most PC gamers still stick with 21-24" Monitors.

Resolution also only makes things look better by increasing pixel density (PPI)

Most current smart phones already have pixel densities 8-10x higher than any TV on the market. ...

It is more a matter of preference but the larger concensus is that the Genesis version of aladdin was better. And in my personal experience (I have both) i agree.

The SNES version had smoother visuals which some people prefered but the Genesis version used the actual disney animations.

The Genesis version was also more action orientated, you had a sword you could fight with. The SNES version was closer to Mario Bro's where you actually had to jump on enem...

1: Higher initial cost, yes. higher cost to maintain over the life of a console, no. Once you have a good system built, half the parts can be reused for a long time. Case, PSU, Motherboard (until the socket type becomes obsolete), Disk drive, HDD, Sound card, OS can all be reused.

I can easily keep my system up to date with the same $400-500 every 5-6 years just like it costs to keep buying new consoles. Maybe $100 more expensive over the same time at most. But then i also sa...

@dk:

There is nothing technically preventing PC developers from using all 8 cores, it is just very expensive and impractical in most cases.

95% of games these days are made primarily for the PS3/360 then ported to the PC since the console are a larger source of revenue for them.

It simply isn't practical for them to recode a game that was initially developed for a single core, to utilize an octa core.

Now that the PS4 has...

Clock speeds don't really matter either though.

There is more to determining a CPUs power than simply number of cores and clock speed. Yes the PS4 will do well with it but that doesn't change the fact that it's still a weak CPU in general, 8-cores or not.

I wasn't trying to imply that the PS4 wouldn't be good because of the CPU, i was simply stating that you cannot say a CPU is powerful just because it has 8 cores.

Actually most PC versions of games don't even have settings low enough to accuratly compare to the console versions.

Part of the reason PCs need better hardware to play the same games even on lowest settings is because the lowest settings are still higher than the console versions.

If you set the res to 1280x540 then go into the ini settings file and manually lower everything like LOD and terrain detail to the same levels that the consoles run at, they wi...
