In defence of FFXII, Vaan was never intended as the "main character" Squenix actually made it clear several times that they didn't intend for there to be a main character at all in FFXII, it was an open lead similar to FFVI. People mostly assumed that Vaan was the lead since he was the first controllable character (excluding Reks).
"The story in Final Fantasy XII is perhaps more adult this time, concentrating more on political machinations. You control a g...
Trailer for a new CD-i Zelda?
If that was the case then Sega would have already sued Gearbox for violating the development contract. Publishers do not just hand out money for developers to do whatever they want with. All money is under contract and must be used on what the publisher specifies. What most likely happened was Sega got tired of waiting for ACM, which they probably felt was no longer worth the time and money, and told Gearbox to redirect the funds to Borderlands 2. At that point, with no budget left to work wi...
You obviously do not understand how video game development works. In most cases, the developer actually has very little control over how a game is made. The publisher invests all the money into the games development and for that reason, gets nearly full control over how the game is made. Gearbox made the game but they did so under direction from Sega. It was Sega that would have made the choice to change the final product from its E3 showing and Gearbox would have had very little if any say i...
Nice way to distort reality but no. Video games are not movies and movies are a ripoff to begin with. When you can go out and buy a game outright at retail, for the same amount PSNow charges for 4 hours, how is PSNow a good deal?
The only PSNow option that is worth it, is the 7-day. Even then, it is only worth it for newer games that still cost atleast $25 at retail.
Games and brand loyalty account for the sales. Not system quality. I'm as big a Sony fan as anyone, just look at my post history and you will see that next to PC, Sony has always been my favorite. Even i cannot just sit back and ignore the facts. Sony really botched the PS4 bad. As good as the games are and as good as the hardware is, the system software is still a complete joke.
@choujij:
"Let us not forget, this is the same corporation voted worst company in America twice."
By gamers, on gaming related sites. EA is not and never has been anywhere near the worst company in America. Anyone who believes otherwise is extremely out of touch with reality.
I know i'm going to get alot of disagrees from blind Sony fanboys that cannot handle their beloved console getting downplayed at all. But the fact remains, the PS4 is missing so many basic features like MP3 playback, friend notifications, etc, that even the PS3 had at launch, it is clear that it is an unfinished product that should not have been released yet. There really is no excuse for it to be missing such basic functionality. The PS4 has the better games atm but as far as the system ...
It is $#!+ like this that has led me to not buy a PS4 yet. So many simple features that were in the PS3 at launch and yet Sony is still "Considering" adding them to the PS4. The PS4 is a joke that was rushed to market 2 years before it should have been.
There is nothing stupid about it. It is an incredible system. You're just ignorant.
Nintendo can't sue. All the patents related to it expired years ago.
Yes and yes but CPU handling of PhysX isn't nearly as efficient as with a GPU. You can also use an older GPU running seperate from the main GPU (Non SLI) and set up the system to use it as a dedicated PhysX card.
Completely disagree on Pokemon. Yellow was better than Red/Blue, it had everything that was part of Red/Blue, improved, and alot more. G/S/C were also better. X/Y have surpassed even G/S/C imo. Features like the Wonder Trade really bring a new level to the games and make the old "gotta catch them all" so much more achievable. I just started X 5 days ago and i already have over 450 different Pokemon without even having done any local trades. I was finally able to build my ultimate te...
Definately not a rendering glitch. Very clear pattern in it. Video was entirely as intended.
@cannon8800:
Console optimization is somewhat of a myth. There is a difference but is isn't nearly as much as most people think. PCs do get optimization, just not the same way as consoles.
Consoles, the games are optimized to the hardware by the developer.
PCs, the GPU drivers are optimized to the games by Nvidia and ATI. If you look at the driver information when getting a GPU update, it almost always shows performance increases of 10-15...
Not quite. The PS4s GPU is slightly more powerful than the 7850 according to the chart. The 7850 was $200 at one point but it has been obsolete for a while now. The current $150 GTX 750ti is quite a bit more powerful than the PS4.
@uth11:
-Viruses - Practically non existent since Windows 7. I went nearly 6 months without even having any anti-virus and didn't get a single virus.
-Spyware - As above.
-Buggy drivers - Non issue with Nvidia and rare with ATI unless running crossfire. Hasn't been a major issue in about a decade.
-games that somehow don't work right - Again, very rare. Hasn't really been an issue since 3D voodoo cards.
-update to a new version ...
Potential sales are irrelevant. The IP is owned by Nintendo.
Without PCs, it would be impossible to make console games.
@sinspirit:
Crysis 3 does look better than those. By far.
Crysis 2 looked worse than Crysis 1 but 3 took it to a whole new level on PC. It is twice as impressive as UC4 in every way.
I have Oblivion on the PC looking nearly as good as UC4 with over 20GB of texture/mesh packs, tessellation, parralax, enb, etc.
Also fyi, realtime and in-engine does not equal in-game. It is alot easier to render a pre-set tech demo with the came...
The day gaming switches to full digital is the day i permanently drop out of buying new games and just focus on retro. Still thousands of games for older systems that i do not yet have.
